As long as your child can play a game and function with a remote in their hand they're good for this. The only violence if you can call it that is the kitchen catching fire if you don't cook fast enough and maybe the characters falling off the platform on levels that you can fall off. Super fun game. Totally worth it for some family gaming. Hope that helps

The first game does allow you to slap other players, but it's not something you'd notice during normal play.

It's a mario game on switch, so 8+ for the system but 6+ for the content. These games are E for Everybody like Mario Party because there is risk of death and cartoon violence, but no language or suggestive themes.

Overcooked II often comes packaged with Overcooked I so keep that in mind if you plan on getting both at some point
