First deal post! Also first time I've seen a QLED of this size at this price point. Description at walmart.com says "Features our QLED Nanocrystals technology resulting in a super vivid color and contrast experience. The Quantum Processor features a powerful processor to optimize screen brightness and sound control. Quantum dot display boasts 100 - percent colour volume to bring you living color in both Bright and dark scenes.". I wanted an inexpensive 65" to replace the older 43" in our den area. Saw some other 65s had been posted around the $400 price point here and heard that Hisense recently upgraded to quantum dot technology in its H8G series. While I couldn't find a 65" of that particular model at a similar price point, I stumbled upon this one which looks quite comparable and has my preferred Roku OS as well. Hope this is useful to others here!

I was eyeing that one until I saw this one was $50 less and QLED. Would have been slick if it was true.

RCA "QLED"

I thought that was a Samsung trademark for its Quantum dot display panels?
...is RCA purchasing their factory reject panels.

Well TCL has QLED too like on the well rated 6 series so I assume they do let others license their tech?

If you're gonna get a low end TV I'd buy this one, they're all gonna have a cheap interface but at least this one will have a decent panel..
I personally can't justify it over my tcl 4 series 65" but if it had 120hz I would, bet the picture is twice that of mine

Scroll to the bottom. Looks like limited HDR and 60hz if these matter to you.

Also says LED??? Looks to be the same model number.

From Consumer Reports:
"RCA has been an up-and-down TV brand in our ratings, but this 65-inch 4K LED-backlit LCD smart TV from RCA, a Roku TV model, does fairly well, with very good overall HD and 4K picture quality. However, it has very limited HDR performance, a fairly narrow viewing angle, and below-average sound quality. Also, RCA has among the worst customer satisfaction scores of any tested brand. Thanks to the Roku TV smart TV platform, it has access to a lot of streaming services, and it includes support for both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice-powered digital assistant, as well as Apple's Siri. It comes with a basic Roku remote control, but you can use the Roku mobile app on your smartphone to use voice commands."
Overall CR Rating : 52/100
HD Picture Quality: 4/5, UHD Picture Quality: 4/5, HDR Quality (HDR10): 2/5
Motion Handling (native 60Hz): 3/5, Viewing Angle: 2/5, Sound Quality: 2/5

This may be a rebadged TCL. You may get very good color but it will suffer with motion, refresh rate, and sound. Then there is the lack of support and parts. Hopefully if this is a rebadged TCL, parts such as the timing control boards are interchangeable. Those are always the first to go. Get the 3rd party warranty.

Yup. From someone in the electronics industry, I am 90% certain these are either late B-stock or early A-stock panels that Hisense/Samsung/TCL or Vizio doesn't want to do a manufacturing run with.

RCA are absolutely trash screens. Rtings won't be doing ratings for a tv they'd assume put in the dumpster.

How does one save money by paying $50 more for a Westinghouse non quantum panel?

These are B or lower grade panels sold to the company that bought RCA, coupled to a no-frills controller board that can support it.

Because it uses Roku firmware, you can expect that it's not super custom in design.

They probably just use the QLED technology Samsung employs, where it's a non-integral film that aids a full array of standard LED backlights.

As for HDR support, I'm willing to bet it supports it, but it doesn't look very good.
I bought one on January 6th. It does have HDR - but you are right, it isn't great. The settings are very limited - think "bright, normal, or dark". But it isn't bad. There is definitely ghosting (I think that's the term) on very dark scenes. White clouds in the corners of the screen which is annoying. Also, as you'd expect, the picture is bad in a bright room. Cloudy is ok but it hates the sun! I tend to watch movies at night so it works for me. All in all for $450ish I am pleased. It arrived in like two days and was in perfect condition. For the money I'd recommend it.

This user is severely misinformed and is attempting to spread misinformation.

Notice how they mention several brands while excluding one in particular (LG).
