Bought for same price on black Friday, came from and old Braun 7. This thing works as talked about everywhere, but I still feel that, for my face hair, the Braun has more consistent shave. The Arc on the other hand seems to be very aggressive in some areas and much less so in others regardless of how much pressure adjustments I make.

I've been using Arc3 without complaints for 10+ years. Does Arc5 bring meaningfully better experience? I remember when I went from 3 blades to 5 in Gillette systems, I didn't think it was worth it

My guess would be its really subjective and depends on your beard, shape of face etc. I too have used an Arc3 for many years and am quite happy with it. Switch the foil and blades yearly and it is like new.

What I don't like is that the replacement foil and blade set for this shaver is over 70 bucks.... https://smile.amazon.com/Panasoni...4ED3490EDX

I pay a little over 30 for the ARC3 replacement set.

I have the older version which is basically the same except the design. It's great but it never goes under $99 why.

how much better is this than a $40 foil shaver? seems like it takes forever to get a good shave with one, so i'm not sure if i should upgrade or go back to a safety razor

Awesome, got one - this appears to be a newer model than the current Arc5 I have. This actually shows the battery level.

I have had issues with my current one related to battery charge, it only lasts for about 20 minutes before it just drops from about 50-60% to 0% and shuts off.

This is a very good deal for an excellent shaver. I actually bought the other Arc5 version when it was on sale at this same price. I prefer that model slightly more for its more colorful battery status display and you can turn off the auto sensing feature. But otherwise they're identical.
