Few days ago , same card had "5% cash back on grocery store purchases (not including Target or Walmart purchases) on up to $12,000 spent in your first year of account opening"
I have two Freedoms and a Freedom Unlimited. Can I get this card and the signup bonus?

What do you mean by spending the categories? Do you mean to select the category first and the first $1500 purchase in the selected category will earn 5% cash back?
Chase picks the categories, not you.
They change each quarter.
Q1 2023 is Target, Fitness Clubs & Gym Memberships, and Grocery Stores (excluding Walmart)
The first $1500 total spent, across all the ones for that quarter, get 5x. Everything after that, or in any category not on the 5x list for that quarter, gets 1x.

Also if you have an Ultimate Rewards earning Chase card like the Sapphire Preferred or Reserve the "cash back" you earn actually becomes Ultimate Rewards points.
You can then use them in the portal at the rate for your card or transfer them to the UR partners.
I have about a half dozen credit cards. Chase Freedom is the only card that's ever been cancelled due to inactivity. Guess I should thank them cuz I'm eligible for this offer now, but I've still got a bad taste in my mouth.
does this give you a temporary credit card number to use while waiting for the real card like amazon rewards card does?
No. Chase lets you add some cards before they arrive to your G Pay / Apple Pay wallet through the Chase app, BUT in small print it lists Freedom Flex as one of the exclusions. Maybe it's a MasterCard thing.
Personally I like the Amazon Prime Rewards Card https://www.amazon.com/Amazon-Pri...BT00LN946S. It gives you 5% cash back on Amazon purchases, and 2% back on restaurants and gas stations. The card is metal like and feels a little heavier too.

There's no reason why you can't have both. I use the Amazon card for Amazon purchases. Other cards for other purchases
how much credit limit did everyone get? i only got $500 and also i never got an email saying i was accepted or anything. the card just showed up on my chase account
