What do you mean that the Apple Watch can be used without a phone now completely? You've been able to make calls and text without your phone near by since series 3 came out a few years ago.

with the 6 - I believe you can give it to a family member and it not have to sync with a phone - and give it its own cellular plan that can make calls and text
