Did I miss something? What is wrong with calling their new line the Gallery Series? I feel it's pretty fitting for the unique picture on wall mounting design.

"Gallery" is fine! But spelling it "Galary" is hooked on phonics level..

Hopefully the 2021 GX with the brighter screens will be this price or lower. Kind annoyed by LG for pulling this.

The 77" GX started at $5999 when it was released, and the G1 uses the new "next gen" panel, so it will very likely start above $5999.

No chance whatsoever it would start lower.

They're positioning this line away from just being a showy line for people with too much money towards something more practical, so it's not impossible to expect them to price it more competitively.

Actually rumor is it will be more than last year's $5999 price tag. I've heard that the Panasonic cooling system adds $1000 to $1500 to the cost of the unit for LG (that's how they are able to increase the brightness--they licensed the active cooling system from Panasonic). I think it will cost at least $5999...

Here's the pricing on the Sony models that will compete with the 2021 LG G1 series: https://www.pocket-lint.com/tv/ne...t-at-2-999

The 55-inch A90J Sony 4K OLED TV will be priced at $2,999, the 65-inch at $3,999 and the mammoth 83-inch at $7,999.

So at least $5,999 makes sense for the largest LG 77" G1.

After finding out how nonexistent Dolby Vision is on projectors, stuff like this is starting to tempt me. If they ever make a 100-inch screen for under $5,000, that will spell the end for most projector setups.

I'm annoyed you can only get the brighter screen in the GX model. It doesn't even have a proper stand.

It's being made in their new facility though I believe, so costs to them should be lower, but that is why I am annoyed, they shifted things around so we only get cheaper models by going with the old tech. Gotta pay up to go brighter, and as an owner of a C series, brighter is very important on this TV if you have a sunny room. I do for about 90 minutes a day and the TV sucks during that time. Hopefully Sony's new brighter OLEDs will be competitive.

People have claimed on AVS forum that if owners emailed LG, they sent them a free stand.

That is good news. I wish someone other than Panasonic would do a swivel stand. My parents have a Panny Plasma and they swivel it all the time. They will not be happy if their next TV doesn't swivel !

I would still venture to guess that 99% of people buying a GX are wall mounting it.
