Just in, 2/10/21 New CDC guidance on double masking. The benefits are clear: In the CDC study, a medical procedure mask alone blocked 42% of particles from a simulated cough, while a cloth mask alone blocked 44%. A cloth mask covering a medical procedure mask blocked 92.5% of the cough particles. And don't layer another mask on top of a KN95, either. That mask should be used alone, the CDC says.https://www.npr.org/sections/coro...ronavirus?
ALERT, Office Depot may be sending out fakes. See image below, OD on right, not the same as pictured on OD and other sites. BonaFidesmasks certified dealer on left. Powecon mentions OD as selling fakes. Office Depot is no longer on Powecom's "Fraudulent Website" webpage. http://www.powecom.com/Fraudulent_Websites.html
Not sure about the picture that is posted, but the masks that we received through another source are like the ones on the right and the packaging authenticity scratch off number passed the Powecom verification website. Bonafidemasks also provides a link to that "anti-fake check," so, either the right hand masks are also genuine, or the Powecom verification process doesn't work.
Powecom packaging has a scratch off verification number. You can go to http://www.powecom.com/verification.html and input the number that is revealed and the website will show whether they made that package or not.
98% efficiency when worn properly based on CDC testing:
Authorized by the FDA
These are on the list of non-NIOSH-approved respirator models manufactured in China that are authorized by this Umbrella EUA for emergency use during the COVID-19 public health emergency. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devic...#appendixa
From https://www.cbsnews.com/news/n95-...ke-seized/
Consumers should generally avoid shopping for such masks on Amazon and eBay, experts say. Instead, people should refer first to the CDC's list of N95 alternatives that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approves for use in health care settings and try to buy them directly from the manufacturer.
Testing standards for KN95 is actually slightly more rigorous than the N95 designation (as shown here by 3M's comparison[3m.com]). It is a standard, but that doesn't mean people aren't producing fakes for easy money during a pandemic, just like fake N95s or the masks people buy from Etsy. Powecom KN95 masks have been tested 17 times by the CDC since April 2020 (https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/r...sults.html) and have exceeded the N95 designation standard of 95%+ filtration every time except for once in May in which they tested at 93-94%.
These masks are very good but personally it's not much more for the two strap version which gives a more secure fit. I bought mine from bonafidemasks.com.
I received my two packages from Office Depot today. I went to the Powecom website and followed their instructions for verifying the masks. Both packages have the anti-fake sticker. I scratched the coating to reveal the validation code. And both codes check out as valid. So, it appears the two packages I got from Office Depot are not fake. But as a side note the photos you uploaded look just like my masks and packaging.

What I am saying is that during the pre-price gouging era this was a standard price for this type of mask. A mask, which, similar to its name, 95% of the population has no actual need for wearing

Why do you feel the population has no need to wear this?
I understand the argument that high quality PPE should be reserved for the first line workers since they need it more than most others. Nevertheless, if we're agreed life is safer if everyone has a mask, wouldn't a high quality mask for everyone be even better? The virus is spreading faster and faster in the US - some change is needed to reduce the spread. Couldn't this be a part of the plan to reduce the rate of spread?
For those that don't believe in masks, no need to argue about what type of mask is better.

So WTF you even commenting if you dont believe in them?
