Not bad, but hits this price often. Was $350 around Thanksgiving.

Thanks! Just had to return my LG 4k player to Amazon after it occasionally would freeze up in the middle of a movie - figured I would bite the bullet and spend the extra 200 on this player

Solid player. The upscaling is damn good. With the exception of HDR it's hard to tell the difference between Bluray and 4k discs on my OLED. I would gamble on an open box if one was near.

Is this that worth? I'm setting up my HT with TK800M, Costco Atmos speakers.

First of all, don't know if I'd be able to play video thru projector in my screen.

But one is available near me in Open Box Satisfactory at $280.

It's a steal at that price. Check some reviews online.

Not worth that price range. I had a Sony X700 and "upgraded" to this player and ended up returning it when I saw no difference in performance. 🤷 ♂️

I'm all about high end gear but the value proposition of this player just isn't there

It's worth it at that price. But current projectors don't display Dolby Vision so you could grab the UB420 instead. It's the same player minus DV.

Yeah that UB420 looks good but I always question whether it's better to get that or an xbox one instead. I don't game much seems it would bring more value to the table for roughly same amount. I kinda regret not jumping on xbox one x sales last January early 2020. I have heard that tone mapping feature on these standalone players is what makes them worth it but how much, I don't know. V

I have the Xbox One X and Xbox Series X. I also tested the UB420 and UB820 against them.

These Panny units are far better UHD players, but they are a one trick pony.

Good to know; I got the X700 for $172 and I'm very happy with it. No issues at all and the upscaling is surprisingly good. I use it strictly to play discs, though; I don't use any of the integrated apps.
