The specs you've posted are if you're using both USB-C port simultaneously. If you're just using one port at a time, the output is as follows:

USB-C1: DC5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12/3A, 15V/3A, 20V/2.4A (48W max)
USB-C2: DC 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A (18W max)

At $17.50, you really expected it to output 48W out of both ports simultaneously?!

There's a few manufacturers who make chargers with the ports facing the floor, such as this one [amazon.com]. Much better design IMO. More flush against the wall so it will fit behind the bed/nightstand easier (and without squishing the cables). Weight is closer to the wall which means less leverage against the AC prongs. I wish more manufacturers would get on board.

The other option is just an AC cord and a charging station that sits on your desk/nightstand, like this one. [amazon.com]

(Above are just design examples. No recommending anything specific. Smilie )

Laptop no longer come with their own charger?

Ikea style? You have to buy every single thing individually and assemble it yourself?

Its still better than the proprietary chargers/bricks on old laptops.

Imagine having this huge brick hanging off your wall. Can't they design something better? No creativity.
I agree. Brick is way too big to hang off an outlet. I prefer the hub type chargers that have a separate power cord to the outlet

not all of us enjoy writing essays, good communication is succinct. I had hoped that the terms "phones and tablets", 'combined', the plus (+) symbol would have indicated that i am specifically talking about the use case where we are utilizing both the ports, wherein you cannot expect super fast charging.which would explain the discount, since majority of people are charging multiple devices.

Any version of this that doesn't poke straight out the wall? Like lays flat? Would be great behind the nightstand.
