Got some of the above last night at my local store, $5 each. Wasn't much left. Bunch of old Xbox One games also for 3¢ to donate to my local charity store.
edit: they were displayed on a clearance shelf in electronics.

Obviously. They just failed to realize both systems could easily coexist, especially for younger kids. They could have rebranded the DS family to skew younger, then move the Switch to the more "mature" position.

It's not like continuing to build the DS costs much, almost all of that is probably long since amortized. It's like printing money....but distracts from the Switch. The secondary market has spoken about the value of the DS. Even used/refurb prices are nuts.

Nintendo needed the factory line to produce more Switch. That's their cash cow at the moment. The DS line price inflation happens with all Nintendo products once they're OoP.

People are nuts about 3DS, Wii/Wii U games! Mario Kart Wii is still $40+ used. I just bought the ddl of Mario Kart 64 through BestBuy for $9.

Fair enough...I've seen the Nostalgia Premium set in many years later, but right after the NES, SNES, and N64 were axed, prices dropped like a rock. I didn't realize the same production capacity was used for Switch and DS, I imagined them more like car assembly lines.
