Microsoft has recently announced that the price of Xbox Live Gold is going up. The $60 1 year membership will now be $60 for a 6 month membership. If you are subscribed at the current rate they will honor a renew at your old price.

Retailers are now carrying the new $60 6 month cards. You can get ahead by stocking up on the old cards at their original price points being the price hike. This will make the gamepass trick more expensive too at the new price points, so now is the time.

I've provided a few good prices below. Take advantage while you can.

Costco: 2 years for $95.00

Target: 1 year for $59.99
https://www.target.com/p/xbox-liv...A-54256322

Amazon: 1 year for $59.99

I currently have about 2.5 months remaining on GCU, should I buy Xbox live now and see if I can use it after GCU is up or just wait and see if there are deals for GCU?

Anyone know what the conversion rate from gold into an already active ultimate account is? Is it still 1 for 1?
If you have game pass ultimate already and want to add gold the exchange is 12 months gold adds 6 months game pass it sucks lol

You know xcloud is literally a cloud game streaming service right? Azure is the hardware and tech behind all of the MS cloud structure. I could have typed it out and said "their existing cloud structure, support, services and tech", but most people understand when I say they are offering the xcloud service to Sony, it is the PS version of it. They will use the backbone MS has and the skills/support to run a smooth product. How the F is that out of context or wrong?

Also, did I say that Sony has never had cloud gaming? No, I said they are going with the experts (MS) to run it and obviously they will be using PS licensed games.

How is any of this not accurate GTFOH? Link to the references for this "research". Some of you guys need to start having a couple drinks or something. It's not threat level midnight, chill out over there

Seems like a portent of

1) The existing 'discounts' on xbox ultimate and xbox game pass are on the chopping block

2) the $1 upgrade deal on xbox ultimate is likely to die soon as well

Luckilly with the previous Costco deal on xbox ultimate I'm set for 3 years now. But likely there will be price hikes for xbox game pass and ultimate coming

No telling at this point but I'd wager they'll do the same thing as in 2012 or 2013 where they won't increase at all

What is the conversion for these prepaid cards if you already have Gamepass?

Tempted to buy the 2 year at $95 to add to my existing gamepass sub.
I'm kind of doing some math and it almost seems that redeeming smaller codes is a better conversion rate. 1 month=20 days. 3 months=50 days, 6 months=80 days and 1 year=120 days. Granted I need to really calculate the price differences of those cards instead of the live-to-ultimate rate. but if you can get 3 month codes for cheap ($15'ish), that seems to be where the conversion rate is the best.

If you have Game Pass Ultimate, it converts 12 months Live Gold to 4 months GPU.
That is garbage... shouldn't we have the option

yeah this isn't a deal and the "price hike" has already happened technically since you could convert 24 months of xbox live gold into 24 months of game pass ultimate, it now converts to 8 months so that's a x3 price hike already, no thanks Big Grin

They are trying to make up for all the Xbox series X which will not be sold as much as PS5 will
Exactly. Target and best buy have them on clearance already because they can't sell them

Crazy price increase. We all better get used to this though, inflation is here and growing. The other day I went to Arby's and I was shocked that my "value" meal cost $10. Meanwhile wages are not keeping pace.

I mean it would be dumb for Sony to leave anything on the table. If MS people are willing to pony up $120 a year for online, why woudl sonly go "DERP we should totally not do the exact same thing and earn 2x the revenue in pure profit"
