I'm looking for a leaf blower and this tripped my deal alerts, and I got kinda excited about a potential deal... haha.

I think the keywords are "in the yard". Yes, you can blow leaves out of your garage or off the driveway. But you can't use this to collect leaves in a pile from the yard. The grass provides too much friction. This is probably more of a shop tool. Blow sawdust out of the shop, off your tools, blow off the mower, etc.

same!

I did see a Sun Joe 20V leaf blower on clearance for $50 at my Sams Club, and wondered if the MaxVolt batteries are compatible.

I bet you could make an adapter to make DeWalt batteries work. There's a compromise with a battery vs corded leaf blower. I get ~20 minutes of power with my DeWalt DCBL720P1. Great for short touch ups, but I use a corded blower once a week in the fall. The cordless is awesome and I'm not knocking over garden ornaments or getting the cord stuck on objects.

If it blows snow of a sidewalk, then shouldnt it also work for leaves?

I'm just having a hard time figuring out why it wouldnt work on leaves.

I have this and it is great for blowing leaves. Actually pretty powerful at the highest setting, and far quieter than gas-powered ones (though still pretty loud, you are blowing a large volume of air, after all).

A dusting of snow. These units are for job site cleanup, like sawdust and plaster dust.
