if you happen to have a chase amazon prime card, you might have a 0% interest offer over 12 or 18 months

Yes, it's a small desktop computer made by Apple that runs the Mac Operating System, not Microsoft Windows.

I have one of the m1 mac minis. Got it from Bestbuy for $640 a month ago. I got another one from amazon for $620 renewed. One of the fastest mac's I've ever used and the price is very reasonable if you have monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Also, if you have Wifi 6 capable router you'll get an extra speed boost. I have AX11000 router and I am seeing upto 700mbps on wifi-6, compared to 400mbps on regular ac-wifi. 250GB SSD is fast, but you can always add more storage by using external HDD or even SSD.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think you can buy any monitor with hdmi input, any mouse and a multi-device keyboard like the Logitech K780. Would be a pretty cheap powerful computer.

Is this any faster than Macbook Air M1 with comparable spec? I could get the Macbook Air M1 for not much more (~ 750 open box at BB).

This is slightly faster than the MB Air b/c the Air is 7-core, and more importantly, the Air is passively cooled so the system throttles under gaming loads. The Mini uses the same 8-core SoC as the Macbook Pro M1 and offers essentially identical performance since they're both actively cooled. But the Mini is slightly more silent simply b/c the bigger chassis offers more airflow allowing the fans to spin slower.
