I mean it's not meant to be spinning 24x7. I.E. not suitable for a NAS drive that will be spinning 24x7.
I bet it will be okay to be plugged in inside its USB case 24x7 as it will likely spin down when not active. I have not verified that though.
EDIT: Appears these may be Exos, Iron Wolf, or Barracuda Pros - all non SMR and suitable for NAS use. I can't verify myself.

These are SMR iron wolf drives inside. Meaning they are exactly made for NAS 24x7 use
From what I can find, these drives are either Ironwolf or Barracuda Pro drives. Both are suitable for 24/7 use (NAS or DAS). The only instance I saw with an archive drive (the first review on Newegg) was for the 8TB model.

Slightly tired of seeing in every thread over 8TB "not a spectacular price." I'm not in a rush as I still have space left on my 5TB (just for storing raw video editing files) but definitely want to upgrade within a couple months.
