Java is the original, has mods, huge adult community. Can only play with Java version players.
Windows 10 (bedrock) edition, which crossplays with switch and other "play together" editions like android, switch, xbox, etc. great for kids, but most adults would find it boring.
Old mobile and ps4 which dont play together with anyone.

If you get java, java to java plays, if you get PE then they can't play each other, then you get Windows 10 edition, can't play with others, right??

First discount I've seen since the Mojang anniversary sale which went out of stock on digital copies very quickly and didn't see vendors re-supply until the discount was over.
Been trying to get a second copy for a while so the kids can both play at the same time.
