they are having a sitewide pre-played sale.
nothing amazing, but a lot of choices a few dollars cheaper than other places used GameFly Pre-Played Sale[gamefly.com]
I came here to post the same comment. A++ for gameplay and graphics, story was a drag/boring/long/slow....
You can't even express this type of opinion without being downvoted. A story can be profound and still be poorly executed. The story wasn't the only thing lacking, the gameplay also needs to be revamped if they do a third title. As time goes on the uncharted titles age more and more poorly because of the repetitive nature of the gameplay and combat...not to mention the constant flow killing climbing.
Conversely, I absolutely loved this game.
The first is one of my favorites of all time I was extremely nervous when I heard they were making a sequel that it would taint the original.
I loved the bold choices in narrative and pacing. It reminded me of watching some of my favorite Tarantino films.
It was meant to be shocking and uncomfortable for the player and every beat of the story feels deliberate.
Every twist and turn had me hooked from beginning to end.
I totally understand WHY some people didn't like their choices. I know fans had expectations for how the characters would end up or the choices they would make. I'm sure Naughty Dog knew there would be mixed reactions but every choice they made worked for me...and a lot of critics felt the same.
Then there are the people who are just mad because gay and trans people exist in this game like they exist in the real world and...well...their opinions are worth about as much as used toilet paper.
All that aside, the game is one of the most technically impressive games ever made. Motion capture animation, voice performance, sound design, it's arguably the greatest of all time.
The gameplay itself isn't anything groundbreaking but watching how the characters move through the environment and engage in combat is pretty cool. Also there are some truly awesome set pieces.
If you're still on the fence, $20 for a physical copy that you can resell later is a pretty low cost of entry.
