Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

Starting to wonder if they are paying you!?!? You seem VERY passionate about a vpn repeatedly say very similar lines throughout the thread.
In the past week they sent out an email stating that they won't pay for affiliates any longer. Apparently, that's a big deal and the other poster was happy with that. What that means is that reviews of them will be, more likely, honest reviews.

The whole 5-eyes thing is overrated:

I agree, if you're happy with NordVPN, no reason to change. But Windscribe is better. That could change, but as of today there is no comparison.
So your reason for saying Five Eyes is "overrated" is because of a blog post by a company in Five Eyes, who also happens to be the company you're gushing about? Subjective much?

I also like how you say "But Windscribe is better" without offering any evidence, just your opinion. If that's the game, I'm saying "NordVPN is better" and we cancel each other out. And it's silly to say "there is no comparison". Of course there is. I even pointed out one big difference between them.

Look, I'm not a NordVPN fanboy. It works for me and that's all I can say about it. I run it 24/7 on 3 devices, and as-needed on 2 devices. For my purposes, it performs as well or better than the competition and is cheaper. And all things being equal, NordVPN is objectively "safer". Does that matter? Probably not, as long as the VPN provider is not keeping user-identifiable logs.

So you do what works for you, but try not to be such a fanboy about it. Keep a little objectivity and realize that you can't say silly things like "Windscribe is better" without any objective evidence supporting that fact, and try not to use biased sources to back up your point of view...it weakens your argument.

I have nothing but good things to say about this VPN. I use the free tier right now (50GB/month), and it works very reliably, connection speed is good, and it has plenty of nice features, like a kill switch, split tunneling, and multiple protocols supported. Their "Stealth" protocol is quite useful, it connects even on the most locked down networks, where UDP, OpenVPN, and IKEv2 would fail to connect.

I bought the 5 year for $22 a couple years ago. It seems to work great. I only use it for downloading though. I did use it one time to stream a TV show episode, because it was free to use that streaming website in a different country.

I'm not really interested in streaming video with the VPN. Privacy is the primary concern.

Bought 3 years for $36 last year. I've been happy enough with it that I would repurchase at this price if it was expiring.

It's still a very good deal compared to their peers in the market.
They are doing this because they have thousands of 3 year old deals expiring, so they jack up the price knowing that most would not bother to do their homework . . . greedy bastards. This will come back and bite them . . .
