How is this service compared to ExpressVPN & NordVPN?
I am looking since a while for a good VPN deal...
NordVPN worked when I was traveling to China but Windscribe didn't.

Many have apps. Some, including the two I mentioned, have series available on demand right on their website, but you have (to appear) to be in the UK to watch them. Connect via a UK VPN and you're in.
What are your favorite shows to stream on BBC once we have this VPN set up?

Honestly, too many to list or even keep track of. My wife is British, so we probably spend more time watching UK shows than the average American. That said, a lot of our shows (UK or otherwise) come from other sources and we watch through our Plex server rather than streaming directly from the BBC or wherever. If you only want a VPN for watching UK series, you might be better off looking at a service like Acorn TV instead -- 100% legal, no need for backdoors or hiding your identity/location, potentially more series available, etc.

If you have a Trakt (trakt.tv) account, send me a private message here and I'll let you follow my profile to get an idea of what we've watched. 🙂

I've actually been thinking of switching from NordVPN since they updated the iOS and Mac apps (not sure about Android and Windows) to no longer allow manual server selection. You just have to go with whatever server they choose for you.
Sounds like a bug. This is not the case on Windows or Android.

I have a lifetime account and can vouch for this service. It works great when I want to play games in other regions.

I've been using Windscribe since Feb 2018 and have been incredibly happy with the service. It runs perfectly on my phone, Chromebook (both as an app and browser extension), and what I use it for the most: Fire Stick 4k/Chromecast with Android TV. I live abroad for much of the year and it's seamless to jump from location to location to access content...in my case, primarily from across the US as well as Spain. You used to have to use the Windflix servers to access country-specific content, and they used to only offer the US, UK and Japan from what I remember, but now nearly all of the servers work to access geo-restricted content (meaning you don't have to search too much for the perfect server that will work). I also pair this with Locast to jump around the various markets they offer and access local news and programming schedules in different time zones. I honestly give it a perfect 10/10...I was new to VPN when I first got a year for $12 or whatever I paid in 2018 but it has exceeded my expectations. Seems like it's getting more expensive these days but I just bought again to stack on the subscription I already have.

Not too versed on VPNs but I understand that a VPN can be setup through your home router (via OpenVPN). Is that viable compared to a VPN service like this? Advantages / disadvantages?
