Great VPN. They recently released a statement with screenshots from websites that rate VPNs for money, and basically said they are no longer playing that game. That they would rather invest that money in the platform (because some of the sites were complaining that they could not make enough commission based on their sale prices).

Take that with a grain of salt or not, but if you don't find them on the rating sites for "top VPNs of 2020, 2021, 2022 etc., I can tell you that it's not because they are not worth it.

Before the pandemic I would have to travel to about 9-12 countries per year, and Windscribe never let me down. Easy interface, quick and stable connection, and also no logs being kept.

I was lucky to get a lifetime a few years ago, and they have been getting better and better. Since that's not being offered anymore, this is a great deal imho.

Wish they had the lifetime plans available again

Windscribe has worked great for me when I was in China and in Russia.

Stacksocial is such a garbage site...this same thing is happening to me. What are you trying to pay with? I'm trying to use the same CC that I've bought 2 other things (vpns actually) from their site within the last 2 months, but now it won't work.
Same error when trying Paypal! Frown

I usually lose about half the speed so ya that's normal. Just switch around different locations to find the best speed. Just FYI for anyone using real debrid with this VPN, only one location with windscribe works with real debrid, the rest will cause it not to work. I guess you could submit a ticket and try to get another location whitelisted if you'd like though according to support from real debrid.
I have been planning to use debrid for a long time now. So dont get this?

I guess nobody knows when this deal ends?

I very much want a VPN (not for downloading anything but solely to be able to browse/read freely without fear). As I mentioned earlier, and nobody replied that they encountered the same problem, on the PC I've used I've had unreliable connections with every VPN I've used. Sometimes they would work for some number of minutes but typically lose connection or the DNS lookup wouldn't work. I'm not smart enough to diagnose it on my own... yet.

So I asked a group of people I game with (about a dozen) if any of them use VPNs. They all said NO (except as required to by working remotely from home) and many are tech savvy. I guess VPN usage is still a relatively small group. I'm going to keep trying to solve my VPN problems with my next attempt to install Windscribe on a different PC just to see if the same problems occur. Unfortunately with so much going on, I probably won't figure it out before this sale is over, so I'll have to wait for the next VPN on sale. All I know is I'm not paying for any VPN until I can get a free/trial version to work. I'm not talking about speeds but simply being able to browse the web with pages loading in a reasonable time. Unfortunately networking, especially on Windows 10, is so complicated with all these different layers and adapters with so many settings I don't understand. When the VPN is connected and misbehaving, I can ping from a CMD prompt and ipconfig /all looks OK to my novice eyes, but I can't load any web pages in any browser without some sort of a timeout or DNS error. I'm beginning to think I'm the only person in the world with a VPN issue given the total lack of posts by anyone having any problems.

Yep I rarely have disconnections on Winscribe but it has happened in the past. Browsing is pretty fast when connected. If you torrent, I hear people get around 100 Mbps download for that.

Don't use this deal if you need VPN access right now (e.g. within a few minutes of paying). I paid about 1/2 hours ago and have been waiting for activation. Looks like there is a back end process that takes time before your account is up.

Haha, lurking! Slickdeals has saved me a bunch of money through the years and so I'm mostly thankful of the site. Just luck that my first post was being annoyed at a product.

Not doubting your experience, but in my case I got the code from stacksocial in seconds and applied it to my windscribe account in minutes. Then the windscribe app saw the upgrade (from free account to pro) instantly.

Not in my opinion. I switched to IPVanish after 3 years of Windscribe and like IPVanish better.
I have the 50 GB free Windscribe and IPVanish and I can't really tell a difference but I didn't get too anal about it.

Is the FREE service "slower" than the paid service? I was trying to consider whether to jump on this deal instead of renewing with IPVanish. I signed up for the free service and my speedtest when connected was around 100 Mbps. I have gig service and get around 700-800 Mbps when running a speedtest while not connected to the VPN. IPVanish was slow as well but think it was around 200-300 Mbps...
