If it's anything like their pods, smoldering electronic wire notes dominate the flavor profile, with hints of cigarette ash in the aftertaste.

It's better than Dunkin coffee. About on par with McCafe.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find any blend with over 10%, unless with a price significantly higher than for this SD.

As others have said this is disgusting coffee, even cutting it 50%/50% with another blend it still makes barely passable coffee. Cutting with another medium roast was much better than cutting with Kicking Hoarse Dark beans. Finally got through my one bag from the last deal.

Yeesh, a lot of hate for this brand, apparently. I recently finished going through a bunch of coffee in this price range, and in my opinion this was my favorite. That's not to say it tastes great or anything, but it's a half-step better than the Seattle's Best deal that comes around SD every now and then, and seems like people think that one's ok.

Obviously if you're willing to pay more, the coffee will be better. But for $10 a bag of this size, I like it.

I have bought it before and it is slightly above average quality, nothing disgusting about it. It is better than any ground coffee at the supermarket.

I've roasted my own coffee for a few years, and like good stuff. But lately haven't really been into it and have been just getting whole beans for 8oclock colombian. While nothing fancy at all, its priced right and whole bean ground fresh each morning makes a difference.

Curious how I like this compared to the 8oclock.

I don't know why so much hate for this coffee... I bought it last time it was on sale, paid about $7 and I found Kona blend to be on par with Peet's Major Dickason's which to me is the gold standard for a darker roast.
