Mine boots in like 6 seconds and it's AMD... You do know that boot times are motherboard and storage dependant. Their not test to show how fast a CPU is.
I decided to look it up. In single threads the 5600X is 29% faster. In multithread tests, they are pretty much the same. The 5600x is much more efficient in power usage which helps greatly in keeping heat down. The 5600x is better but the 10700 is no slouch.
Note that this is not the unlocked "K" version. It's in the title, but thought I'd mention it since I didn't notice it right away.

Yep, I was surprised this didn't show up on Slick Deals. May be only the first or second time I've posted a deal here (its been so long I can't remember). That said, its the second time I have purchased this CPU, surprisingly for the exact reason that it is the locked, lower TDP version. I installed the last one and will be installing this one in cases where my cooling options are limited and I have no need for maximum speeds or high power draw. Would have gone AMD, but it seems Linux distros are still working out stability with Ryzen.

This is overkill for streaming @ 1080P. The gaming side depends on what games you are playing. I don't know from experience, but I'm sure this would edit videos just fine, depending on video resolution and size of the file and how fast you want it done

At this price, it's very equivalent to the AMD 5600X. For gaming it's a few percentage points worse, but for demanding workstation uses, like video editing, it's a few percentage points higher due to the larger core count. I'd say it's a good value at $300, especially since it's not out of stock.

My Pre-Built is coming with an "F", is that lock? Is it good that it's locked or bad?

Is this a shitty processor? I currently have a Haswell i7 4970. I am only asking because it is sold at Best Buy for what seems like a pretty low price.
Should I opt for an i9 since I want something ahead of the rest?

The "F" processor runs at a lower clock speed, uses less power, and the speed is locked. The "F" also doesn't have an integrated graphics but that won't be an issue with a prebuilt, since it'll come with a discrete graphics card.

"F" means it doesn't have integrated graphics, and you rely on the discrete GPU in the pre-built.

They are also locked. It is fine for you, since you probably don't want to overclock it.

What are you planning to use it for? I have one computer with i3 4170 and it's great for browsing, streaming, and basic computer work. I also have a gaming computer with a AMD 5900x that I use for photoshop and VR gaming. You buy for your needs, not for flexing.

When I need horsepower I primarily do gaming and video encoding. Thus far the QHD resolution gaming aspect, the bottleneck has pretty much always been the graphics card (currently MSI Gaming X 1080Ti). There are some aspects that could use a faster processor, but mostly to overcome poor code. But for video encoding, using handbrake (2-pass veryslow mode) it takes awhile. I have not been too happy with using the Nvidia encoding for video quality, that's why I use the veryslow method of the software instead.
