First post.

Been looking around for 12/3 extension cords of at least 50 feet for awhile to power some of my tools.

These are the only ones I've found under $30 that are readily available for purchase online and with free shipping. Most are priced $50 and above.

Shipping is free for me as a member. Price and shipping may be different for non-members.

These are good cords.

One note: If you want to run 100' for an outdoor winter appliance, get a 100' cord rather than connect two of these. You don't really need the unprotected splice in the middle of the run in that use case.

Or get a twist and seal to cover the connection - https://twistandseal.com/

I got them from store long back to run saws and stuff in backyard.

Excellent quality and very heavy duty. The outlet also have light so very nice to see if it is plugged it in or not. Something very useful when you are running power tools.

These are heavy duty but the lack of
flexibility bothers me a little, I have some US Wire and cable extreme all weather ones that are heavy duty but still flexible. They're fine but I'd rather I had spent a bit more and got the more flexible.

Were the others you mentioned 12 gauge also? There tends to be quite a step down in flexible when going from even 14 down to 12 - whether with extension cords or Romex. The insulation on these is also quite thick. Regardless though I've found these to be more flexible than expected before I bought it but it's.a heavy wire (which IMHO is a good thing).

Yes, all SJTW cords like the OP have PVC jackets that are hit and miss, with all becoming more stiff as the temperature drops.

The all temperature flexible will have EPDM rubber jackets.... SOOW or SJOOW rated in about any gauge wire you want for a price.

Yeah they've been on sale for $30 previously and other prices below $40. Here's one thread.

It's probably cheaper in Costco stores than $50 because they build the shipping cost into the online price. I'd say for this to be a good deal it would have be <= $40.

Yes, also 12 gauge, here they are, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001LUT...6RNZV406QN but much more expensive, I think the price fluctuates a good bit

These have been $30 a few times in the past. I got them and really don't like them, they are very inflexible and a PIA to coil up when storing.

I snagged four of these 12 gauge 100 foot SJTW cords from Lowes for $23.67 each plus tax. For that price, just like the SJTW OP cords, they are ok. Those living in warmer climates will not have any problems like cold weather has.

I agree. They also seem to be a bit shorter than a 50' cord I got from Amazon.

Unfortunately I haven't had any success with the in-store deals others have mentioned.

Costco's in-store items are extremely variable by store/region. Personally I've never seen a heavy duty extension cord at my Costco. I also tried to get the 100ft cable Lowe's deal that was mentioned, but didn't have success even though brickseek showed in stock.

So I think if you needed to get 50'+ 12 gauge cables right now with guaranteed availability, this is the best deal I have found. If someone knows of another 50'+ 12/3 cable under $25 or even $30 please link it, as I really only have a use for a single cable at the moment.
