I broke this item off from my other Special Buys post because it's a really unique impact bit set that deserves some love and attention.

Milwaukee SHOCKWAVE Impact-Duty Drill and Driver Bit Set (100-Piece) - $29.97 (57% off)

Main reason to take a look at this one is all the 2" and 3.5" bits. 48 of the bits are 2 to 3.5", by far the most we've seen from any set under $30. Also comes with the 3 nut drivers. It doesn't come with the full variety of the recent 120 piece set, but that set only came with 12 of the longer 2 to 3.5" bits. This set is the best set of common use items we've seen and better than the 120 piece set. Pic attached for breakdown.

That's a great price, i've noticed most recently in reviews that Makita bits seem to be "better" for what that's worth but this is a good price for the high quality bits. Thanks

It's certainly possible the new Makita XPS bits are better than the Milwaukee Shockwave bits. That's what I've heard at least. But Shockwaves appear to be better than Makita Gold and Makita X. These bits tested out as best in the Project Farm testing video, but that didn't have XPS. At the very least, it shows the Shockwaves are really good bits, and this is a really really cool set available with all the long bits and the nut drivers. Haven't seen anything like it in any deals. Would buy this in a heartbeat over the 120 bit set that was previous FP deal.

Thanks Andy for those amazing deals.
I have bought too much tools by milwaukee, but keep finding better choices. The results are, I have to decide which one I want to keep, then return others.
For example, I purchased 10-piece hole saw, then found the 15-pieces can be a complementary for sizes which are not included in the 10-pieces kit.
Then I found the 20-piece is a better choice with all those sizes, and the price is equal to those 2 kits together. But I don't have to keep 2 boxes.
Though I always refrain returning merchandises which were opened/ used, but still worrying being considering as wardrobing.

Don't even have an impact driver yet and bought this set anyway! haha

Any good deals right now on the M12 Fuel impact driver? I'm just starting to build my milwaukee cordless tool collection, so battery combos would be welcome... TIA

As a disclaimer, you could have gotten M12 FUEL Impact + 2ah battery + M12 charger + bag for $99 from November through January. So that was a pretty nice baseline deal to use as a price reference for future deals.

You can hack the M12 FUEL Impact for $90 right now using the buy more save more deal.

Add to your cart: M12 FUEL Impact ($129) + M18 4-1/2" Grinder ($179) + M18 compact router ($199). The 3 of these add up to just over the $500 threashold to get the $150 discount. Select the M12 Fuel Impact for either store pickup. Select the M18 tools for ship to home. Checkout and pay. Immediately go back into your account and cancel the ship to home items. You will get the prorated refund and get the impact for $90.

It's not the greatest deal but it's a fair price. There's also this set (link below), but I'm not that wild about the M12 hammer drill. I'd rather get the M12 4-in-1 installation driver and the M18 hammer drill for actual hammer drill applications:

**Edit**
On second thought, I'd hack the M12 FUEL Surge Impact for $104.
Use M12 FUEL Surge Impact + M18 Grinder x2 and the subtotal is $507. You get max discount using this path. That's actually a really good deal for a tool that doesn't go on a promo like that often.

Here's a comparison of Surge vs standard FUEL Impact

Hmmm. I just tried it as well. Maybe it only works for store pick (not ship to store). Solution would be ship to home and do a partial return in store because it should still have the price breakdown. Let me look into the store pickup option now.

Edit:
Confirmed my the cancel method works for in-store pickup items. The partial cancel doesn't seem to work if you're shipping all items, and it doesn't matter if some are to home vs in store.

Options:
1. Try to call to do a partial cancel after ordering
2. Buy all and do a partial return.
3. Buy only items that are in stock in store.
4. Ship to home the item you're keeping, ship to store the item(s) you're not and call to cancel once at the store. I generally dislike that option because it's wasteful, but it's an option.

You were correct. I actually did two purchases and cancelled to verify. The ship to home/ship to store separation doesn't work like store pickup.

Anyways, the deal you mention is a pretty good deal for the Surge. IMO it's only incrementally better than the M12 FUEL impact, though. So, I go back to the original price reference: M12 FUEL Impact + 2ah battery + charger + bag was $99 for a couple months. I'd save the $80 for the difference between the surge + 2.0 and non-surge. But that's just me. The surge combo isn't a screaming buy, but it's a pretty good deal. I like hacking it for $104 a lot better because you can get those batteries and an M12 charger really easily through basically any other M12 purchase. I think I have like seven 2.0 batteries now and I haven't been trying to buy them by any means. They just seem to sneak their way in to every deal.

Might I suggest an even better option? Buy it now, but wait at least a few weeks before opening it to see if another better option/deal comes up. If so, return your original purchase. If not, party on with the Surge.

Too many returns maybe considering as return fraud?
