Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, it's a huge bank in Spain and lots of Latin America. However apparently the USA division is 100% independent and runs their own accounts. As pointed out above PNC purchased this USA division and will fold it in (BBVA will still exist globally)

Beware BBVA!!! I had an account with them and it was nothing but trouble. They have horrible customer service. If you open an account with them....watch them like a hawk.

I'm kind of annoyed. I did sign up and they gave me an option to open the deposit with a credit or debit. So they're not going to add that deposit to my balance? Kinda surprised at that...like...really?


I guess that was the one and only chance I had to add money via credit card. This is definitely going to be a hit and run for me I'm not pleased.


Honestly I could have opened an account with 10 more Banks it didn't have to deposit a dime. But yeah I guess it's all about the money so it's just the price I'm paying for that two hundred bucks First bank card since I was 18 that held my money like this. Didn't last long there either.

It freaking sucks that you have to be a US citizen and maintain a minimum balance of $500 for a year.
My advice would be to go with a decent bank like CHASE instead!

BBVA is the worst bank I ever worked with. AVOID!! If the offer was deposit 1 Dollar get 1000 free I would still pass.
