Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, it's a huge bank in Spain and lots of Latin America. However apparently the USA division is 100% independent and runs their own accounts. As pointed out above PNC purchased this USA division and will fold it in (BBVA will still exist globally)

Beware BBVA!!! I had an account with them and it was nothing but trouble. They have horrible customer service. If you open an account with them....watch them like a hawk.

It has to be 1 payment of at least $500. I was misled by a bank teller thinking I can do multiple deposits equaling $500 by the set date. So make sure it's 1 payment of $500 or more.

I would argue I prefer US Bank over Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America. Better customer service, not as picky as the other 3 Major US banks imo.

Credit Unions are always better with the exception of 24/7 support. I have 3 credit unions here in CA, US Bank, BBVA, and a Capital One 360 Checking in which I got a promo for opening for free which will be closed soon. US Bank has been amazing to me. Prefer it much more than Wells Fargo, Chase, and Bank of America.

ive had accounts with them since 2006 (saving checking helock mortgage) no problem since i opened it. Customer service used to be much better.

BBVA is garbage I got this offer last year. They even charge you to transfer money out, but you can get around that by using a different bank to start the transfer. The only reason to get it is to pocket the $200 and then run. I recall I was able to trick them into thinking a transfer from another bank account was a direct deposit.

The acquisition of BBVA by PNC is expected to close in mid 2021 once the required regulatory approvals have been obtained. This acquisition will allow PNC to become the country's fifth-largest bank by assets. PNC is a big stable bank - go for it if you want the money.

I noticed that the Savings require $500 daily balance. Is the $500 the combined checking and savings, or the Savings has to have the $500?

I think it's just the savings needs >= $500. By default, you can have the checkings be at $25, no?

Not related to BBVA but I thought of mentioning this since people talked about us citizenship requirement. I opened an account with Fifth third ($250 bonus on $500 DD) in branch 3 months back. Their form had a grayed out option of US citizen which can't be changed. The bank person told me that it's just about being a resident (i believe she was talking having lived 183+ days in a tax year).
Can't say for sure but if you are a non us citizen and really want to get this deal, try your luck in person!

Here is a list of things that you can use to trigger the $500 DD requirement.

Seems pushes from WF, Chase, and Capital One Checking will trigger the DD. I'm going to try BofA.
