No Makita fans around here? I've always thought Makita tools always felt more refined and premium than other tool brands. This is an excellent impact wrench. I would recommend the pin detent version though. The ring on this wrench is metal, and sits on the bare metal anvil. Overtime, the ring can deform and become loose; you won't be able to hold any sockets firmly when that happens. Check out description of this issue at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ltstQwb5ww

I have this tool, and it's been great. Not the most torque around but enough for most jobs. And as always, it's hard to beat the quality of Makita.

I bought this and unintentionally got the home depot style hack. Tool shipped first for $111, and then the card didn't have enough left for the battery and is not gonna ship. I don't need the battery so I'll probably just let it cancel. Thanks for the good deal

Just an FYI that this is still alive but as $189 now. I was also interested in this if is could be hacked. Ordered on 3/22. Wrench was available for two day shipping but battery was back ordered. Perfect, I thought. Once the wrench arrived, I went to cancel the battery. This is the odd part.

I tried the same day the wrench arrived using my phone on Amazon app. Got an error. Tried on tablet on app, same result.

Next day, I log into my account on a PC and it tells me that "bundled" items cannot be cancelled once one part ships. At this point, I think I am stuck waiting for the battery.

The following day I try again on the tablet. I click cancel, select the battery and boom, it canceled. The wrench alone was $110.79 doing this. So, if you are still on the fence about this one or the XWT15Z, give it a try.
