Got mine for $40 on HD clearance a while ago and can say it's worth even at $60 IMO. You can adjust area of lighting ( it's more of a personal area in the attic/crawl space, equipment maintainance and installation than whole room lighting though) and included USB charger comes in handy for charging phones and tablets. The only gripe against it is that clear lenses/cover gets scratched easily and after a while becomes dull, I might try using headlight restore kit on it once it becomes too dull as experiment.

How long does the battery last? And which battery do you use?

Last summer I used metal polish on a heavily scratched plastic motorcycle windshield. It took all day but turned out perfect. Maybe try that?

I didn't time how long TBH because I just change when they run out since I have plenty spare batteries. My most common used in this is either 3.0 or 6.0. I also have 8.0 and 12.0 but those usually are being used for grinder/miter saw/vacuum since those chug them up more.

The right headlight restore (maguiars in my case) include UV resistant clear coating and that's the main thing that "clear" the tiny scratches in plastic, in reality it's more that it fills them up to create new smooth layer. Polishing is usually to remove the deep scratches at the same time it removes the thin layer of plastic and this flashlight already has it pretty thin.
I appreciate the idea though since can use it for other things.

Would wait for this to come down. Honestly pricey. I bought a coast flashlight that also has a lantern style light on the handle, for $20. Matter of fact, I bought 2, and still have $20 left over vs this. I love Milwaukee but that light is pricey.

There is something to be said with the milwaukee having hanging hooks, rechargeable batteries (of any size), and a built in charger.
I'm assuming you've got the coast lights that clearanced out at home depot (with the magnetic base) that showed up on slickdeals a few weeks ago.

I've had this lantern for several years now, really handy and great for camping. I have 9, 6, 5, and 2ah batteries, but usually use it with the 2Ah battery to keep the size and weight down. The last time we used it for camping, we let it run overnight (on the lowest of 3 brightness settings) with a 5Ah battery, and the battery still had 3/4 bars left in the morning after running for close to 10 hours. Under normal use I would use it at its brightest setting so obviously this would not last nearly as long. Hope this helps.

Here's the light: Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

Polysteel 700 Stormproof Dual Power LED Flashlight with Dual Color (White/Red) C.O.B.

Honestly, Milwaukee makes great stuff, but sometimes you gotta wait a bit for the price to come down to earth.

The light you linked is more of a flashlight than lantern type like M18 is.
First of all I hate wasting AA batteries on something like flashlights (remotes sure because they last long time in them), yes coast offers rechargeable pack but that becomes $60 package as well. Second depending on your inventory of M18 tools and batteries it might be just much simpler to grab one and not to worry for hours and hours about the runtime. In my case I also have their supercharger and most of my batteries are now HD ones so they gets charged super fast anyways.
If you prefer compact and portable flashlight then yes coast one should do the trick. My personal experience with their flashlights are not very positive as well though, on one the lens covering LEDs just popped off like a cheap POS and another goes through batteries like crazy (both are from HD deals though so I'm sure they make more professional products that last).

You sound like you own a m18 fuel bottle opener too 😂 We're talking $20 vs $60 pal, just saying I wouldn't pay $60 when a substitute product can do 90% of the same.
You know if they made an m18 bottle opener, people would buy it!

Actually they include it for FREE on some tools like M18 Charger/Radio and few others, don't remember rest because I don't use them anyways.
