I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.
Considering the street value of even a used 3070 is north of $800 right now, this should sell out in all of about 6 seconds.
7 replacements? Your persistence is commendable.

Unless I'm missing something isn't the exact same spec as the $1530 system posted a few days ago, that was a 'Firedeal'. Am I mistaken?

If not, at $1200 this is indeed a great deal.

It's the same deal. Imma ask for a refund of the purchase price OR cancel the order all together.

Everything about this pc is slow , unless s your just hard up for a pc.

Cpu ok! But outdated
Small m2
Weak psu
Slow memory
3070 have been In stock at various retailers this past week I've skipped on them and got 3 x 3090 .

If you want a 3070 check fbm they usually only marked up $100-$150 , which is still cheaper then this.
IF you mean in stock for 2 seconds and then out of stock. yea. or did you mean Retail B&M locations? IF so which ones?

Marked up 100 to 150 from retail. The new retail for anything other than the FE is 599 at least. So you are saying I could buy a sketchy scalped one for 750 or this entire system directly from dell for 1200? And that's a bad deal how? I'm gonna buy one and just throw it in my basement to mine ETH. It'll pay for itself by Christmas and then my kids will be happy they have an awesome computer and I'll be happy cause it was essentially free. At least in my head that's how it works, because they will go fast I'm sure.

The CPU and GPU alone are worth over 1k. PSU is minimum 60 bucks. Motherboard Is no less than 100.

You are not building this computer for this price or less in the current PC market.

RAM may be slow, but owners have mentioned support for aftermarket RAM. Still advise to do research first, but doesn't make this less than a deal.

Yeah all the proprietary stuff makes this basically an expensive console version of a PC. Warranty is nice. I'm not sure if Alienware is the same, but some prebuilts from big brands come with weird gpus with custom heatsinks and fans by the manufacturer. I think that tanks the resale value going forward as well. I know I wouldn't buy a second hand GPU with an Alienware cooler.

Yeah, I've had 3 mainboard swaps in my r15 laptop, I'll never buy dell again.
Bad luck? I've had an R7 Aurora for 3 years now. It's used at least 12 hours/day for work, gaming, and VR, No issues. Also have a 5 year old Dell 7559 laptop that runs great still.

Understandable that this is not the best config possible, but for the price it does seem to be quite a good deal.

Without the context of price saying that a system is 'slow' or underpowered is meaningless. All systems are 'slow' or 'fast' compared to something else. The question is - is this a decent deal for $1200?

And btw - from the other thread I doubt PSU is weak for the system. If you are upgrading down the line then it might be a different story, but from comments on the thread I truly believe the PSU is well balanced for what's in the box. A few folks were not convinced, but overall it did seem to be the consensus. I'll certainly trust professional system designers unless there is definitive data to prove PSU is a bottle-neck.

Pull the 3070. Sell on eBay or FBM for ~$800. Add my GTX1060 until the 3000 series comes back down to earth.

~$400 for a 3700X system to replace my i5-7400??
Sounds like a steal! Wink
