I thought it was a great deal until i found out that most of the parts are proprietary. Correct me if i'm wrong but even the GPU is their own custom GPU which means you can't just replace it with a full size 4070/5070 next time. There's also people complaining of thermal issues. That being said, ts a fantastic price @ $1199 for a 3070 but be aware of the limitations.

Considering the street value of even a used 3070 is north of $800 right now, this should sell out in all of about 6 seconds.

7 replacements? Your persistence is commendable.

I mean do you guys know if anything isnt crazy overpriced right now for a basic video card model.
lol. Yeah, I mean it depends on how you define "basic video card model". How "basic"? Stay away for any type of serious high-end gamer cards. Something in the mid range maybe. 1650's or 1660s maybe, I dunno. All the cards kinda went up in price to some degree at least so... Even my old GTX 1080 is worth like $500 now so...I would still describe that as a high end card though.

This is overpriced, but it's in stock and not the price of a car down payment. After selling the 3070, you'd have a great computer for productivity and it would still game at 1080p.

Im considering this PC for office use. Would I be able to remove and sell the video card and replace with a cheaper one ? Whats the video card worth on the secondary market ?

You can find 3070s for $750 on craigslist (at least in my area). I would knock off another $100-150 off that for a dell OEM that wont have a warranty so you're looking at $550-$600 net IMO.

No one is using these cards for gaming... High prices and shortages are due to cryptocurrency mining. This here is a money maker.

I hope I can get in and cancel my other one in time and before it ships...

A standard partner card will go for at least $900 on the current market. This card is a dell OEM card, so it's a bit less desirable. Also not sure how long it'll take for you to get the machine.

For anyone interested, here is the inside shot:

Very similar to past Auroras. I don't see any issue with undegrading the ram, nvme, PSU and video card (in the future). Removing the 120 mm should provide more room for a longer video card. Also, Ryzens are not very OC friendly so the cheap oem mobo isn't that big of a deal IMO.

Got an Alienware Aurora R7 Intel 8700 w/ liquid cooling during the crypto phase a few years back when you couldn't find any 10xx series videos cards. Still holding up great and no issues with cooling. Just put a 3070 and a 650w power supply in and runs great. Highly recommend this setup at this price

If you dont mind sharing, how did you fit a3070 into the R7 case? What model 3070 did you use?

TIA

Does anyone know what kind of chipset Dell uses on R10's motherboard? X570, B550 or B450?

I just found this on their website: https://www.dell.com/support/manu...lang=en-us

It's the B550A, the renamed B450.

yes, deals are relative based on supply and demand. those things change, so what would be considered a "deal" would also change.

if you could literally not obtain an item at anything lower than, say, 20% above MSRP, then people will jump at the item at MSRP. if you don't think that's a deal and you'd rather wait, then you do you, but your opinion will not change the fact that demand is high and people will pay more.
Simply being in stock , not to mention also being overpriced well above MSRP does not constitute as a "deal" lol no idea how you can argue that it is.

If that's the case the lowest buy it now price on ebay is also a deal lmao

Well, the nvidia cards didn't go up in price because they are manufactured in Taiwan apparently.

Not sure if this is a partner card or nvidia card, but I can update to reflect.
I seriously doubt that. Current gen Nvidia cores are fabbed in South Korea by Samsung, but the majority if not all of the actual cards are assembled in China most likely with Chinese made PCB, cooling system, back plate, capacitors and some minor chips on the board. The "Made In" whatever country tag is not assigned to the country with the most value add to the product or the country that made the most critical component, the country that made the last value add (usually the assembly) get assigned the Made In country. It's the same reason why iPhones are considered "Made In China" by customs even though the SOC is designed in the US by Apple & made in Taiwan by TSMC, OLED is made by Samsung (might change to BOE in the future though), NAND from South Korea (might change to Chinese in the future) etc

BTC is about to hit $50K. You might want to check those used 3070s for $750 again...
