It's definitely geared towards graphic artists. The pressure sensitivity makes it feel like an actual pencil/brush. There is no doubt in my mind that it's excellent for that use and I have enjoyed it for such. The 2nd gen is great in that it magnetically charges right on the air/pro and the double-tap to change tools is really useful. I also like the native features like tapping a locked screen brings up the notes app and dragging from off-screen bottom right or left corners takes a screen shot.

My only gripe doesn't have to do with the pencil but with the software. I would expect writing-to-text to work a bit better but frankly the controls are not intuitive. I may just still be a n00b but it takes me much longer to write notes with the pencil than just typing them with the onscreen keyboard. One mistake and you're taking 4-5 seconds to edit and re-write one word and the person speaking has already long moved on..

I bought one open box from Best Buy back in December for $86, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered for $130 list. Even at $86, I only wrote it off for my small graphic design side biz as an expense for last year and if you're not using it to draw I can't recommend this over a generic $30 amazon one (like my wife bought and is perfectly happy with).

For me, it changed to full-price when I added to cart, BUT I left the cart tab open for like 10min like babyshaq90 said, and it changed to the lower price. IDK why this works, but it does. :/

I honestly don't know. We bought one for our latest gen ipad air and were not impressed. It was pretty useless frankly.

What did you buy it to do, that made it useless? I mean I see nice art done with it, notes taken with it. Personally I thought I would draw more, but I don't blame the pencil for that. It works great I just suck at it.

You're missing a lot. A quick google search would have solved this mystery for you
