I've been waiting on the list too. Can get tool only for $59 on eBay. But rather wait for HD free battery for that price. Gave my Rover Flood square one to my father in law and want to replace it with this.
Add your e-mail to receive "Back in Stock" alerts. I was on that list for a long time. It's in and out. Super popular though. Gotta pull the trigger as soon as you get that e-mail.
Nice tip! I put myself on the list as you suggested and just got a "Back in Stock" email a couple of minutes ago. I switched over to the item with the free battery and placed my order. Thanks!

FYI the back in stock notification email is sometimes delayed. There are many examples from the past few months where people have randomly checked on an item they signed up to be alerted for and found it was in stock, only for the email alert to come much later.
If you're really trying to grab the item, check on it once or twice a day.
I was able to grab the new Ryobi glue gun holiday bundle this way, bought it a full day before I received the alert it was back in stock since i just happen to check on the product page if it was available. A few guys did the same to nab the big $200 Milwaukee packout socket set.
Just got the back in stock email. They had about 25 when I just placed my order.
EDIT - Nevermind. Realized the link in OP was for "Tool-Only". Cancelled order. Hope others who may have made the same mistake realize it before it ships.
Got one today (with free 2.0 battery) at 1:01 p.m. following an "in stock" alert on the tool-only listing. There were only 8 available kits that I saw. Thanks for tips, everyone!
'Tool_only back-in-stock alert' was supposed to signal you the promo with the free battery is going to go back-in-stock soon, before HD sends "promo item back-in-stock" alert to everyone on the notify-me list. So, you should have switched to the 'tool with free battery promo' item, as soon as you got the 'tool_only back-in-stock' alert (which happens first, I noticed) and (after a brief wait, as in minutes) would have seen the promo SKU (Internet #315479169) is back in stock as well.
You do this because HD stock-alert system is delayed, as someone else pointed out, and HD puts up 25-50 items on each reload and this thing goes OOS before you can react to your back-in-stock e-mail (if you only picked the "alert me for the 'item + free battery" SKU).

There are two things sold for $59 at Home Depot: 1) Tool_only [homedepot.com] (Internet #314746266 Model #2367-20) is $59. 2) Tool + 2.0 battery promo [homedepot.com] (Internet #315479169 Model #2367-20-48-11-2420) is also $59.

Same. Missed it twice. I preordered when it was announced and I like it so much I had to have a second.
