This isn't a new bundle is it? I got what I think is the same 5.0ah impact/hammer drill kit (XT268T) on a front page Makita deal around two years ago for $208.
But this is still a good value based on current retail pricing with the extra batteries thrown in. Their is such a surplus of 5.0ah batteries being sold on marketplaces because of all the past and current Makita promotions I would only get in on this if you needed them. These are very heavy duty, the hammer drill is probably overkill for most.

The hammer drill is pretty new. I think it's the stronger and lighter version they have.
The drill model is xph14 and the impact is xdt16
Confused. Aren't the 18V impact / drill sets $199 with two batteries? This is two additional batteries and the highest quality bits for 2x the price? Disclaimer: I'm dumb.

No, you're right. I checked my set and it was the XDT14 (3-mode brushless) and XPH07 hammer drill. Both models have seen new releases/upgrades featured in this kit.

You're probably thinking about the base models. The one here has their flagship impact driver and hammer drill. The impact driver in this kit is arguably the best on the market. I have and use one...lots of power, yet so smooth and precise! You don't always need to brute force everything with hulk level torque like some other tool brands...

I need a new cordless set because the batteries died. Was thinking about upgrading to brushless but so confused with all the options

Helpful, thanks! I'm not a pro so I don't think I need this level of tools and the base 18V models will be fine. I have the 12V Makitas and LOVE them for small projects but am doing a lot of more heavy duty work and need more power.
This is a great set. I Bought this combo over the holidays, but it came with a free circular saw and reciprocating saw back then. Unless you are desperate to jump into the Makita ecosystem, I would wait for a better deal

This is not the same set. It wasn't available yet at the holidays

Actually, it is. Unfortunately, I cant call up a direct link on HD's website since the it was a special package and is no longer offered. However, this is a screen shot from my order history:
I will correct myself partly. The set I bought had the XDT14 impact driver. The OP include the XDT16 that is the newest.
