Battery lasts about 3 days for me and I wear it over night. Toss it on the charger when I'm showering every couple says and it's good for another couple days. But full to 0 is about 3 days.

I really like mine. Use it for pretty much everything you use one of these for. Notifications, exercising, etc.

Nothing compares to Apple watches but if you prefer android phones, this is a pretty good watch.
This is a fantastic watch if you just want notifications. Very solid connection and looks great and simple. I'm still using the Active 1, and it's easy to throw a protector on it and use it for work. Very durable, not a lot of places where dirt can wreck it.

Not a fan of the apps or Bixby, but I've had trouble with Wear OS watches in the past, so Samsung it is. Wear OS watches are not reliable, in hardware or software.
You could have just bought a new one and sent them back the broken one since they gave you the run around. You could have also used return protect on your credit card or filed a dispute. Many options

If sports tracking is your main purpose you should check out Garmin. Vivoactive is their entry model (but still has built in GPS and even supports pool swimming which is rare in others) and Fenix is their top line. On the other hand the regular "smart watch" things are not their strongest.
Garmin is poo

Samsung intentionally crippled this watch if you don't have a Samsung phone - can't add/delete calendar event, cannot use ECG, etc. Why everyone seems to be OK with it, and even willing to jump thru hoops to work around this crap? To me this is unacceptable and I don't trust a company that place profit at a higher priority than the best interest of the customers. I will not give my money to a company with that kind of mindset. Samsung gave me that vibe more than 10 years ago when I got my first Samsung phone, sold it and never had a Samsung mobile device ever since.

Is this a good entry level smart watch? I basically just want to use it for comprehensive sleep tracking, Bicycling, Walking, and Swimming. I notice it has no GPS, does it just connect to your phone's GPS then?

Why would someone need an extra charging station? Just curious.

Anything in the $30-$50 range that is good? I see a lot of cheap fitness bands out there, such as the Xiaomi Mi Band 5. Then there was that Wyze watch for $20-$25. I don't need to text or make phonecalls on my watch, so the Samsung does way more than I need probably, but $140 is a good price for what it does, it seems.

Back when I had to go to the office, I left a charger at my desk in case I forgot to dock it. That's the one I'd also take on vacation and such. It's nice to have a back up.

They really need to stop trying to make Tizen OS happen. Or convince people to make proper apps for it. The App store is 95% ugly watch faces, 3% incredibly poorly designed and/or reviews apps, and 2% stuff that works.

The only time I'd buy a watch like this is if the price is < $30.
Then why are you here?

Is this the best watch for Heart/EGC tracking under 200$ or do any of the others do better?

My point was merely that I like my Galaxy Watch, but there are apps that are available for android and apple watches that just straight up aren't for Tizen watches, or the Tizen version doesn't sync or run well or is missing features. So it's worth someone considering these watches to take a look at the galaxy app store to see if the ones they want are available and well reviewed.

It seems like the app store is mostly full of watch faces which, while I like having options, I'd rather have Strava, Runkeeper, or I'd rather MapMyRun work rather than crashing regularly. A gmail app, etc. Really it's fine as long as you're ok with using samsung health for all fitness stuff, but if you were already using really any other program it's likely not available.

likely a new model
Ya, there is a new model on the way but doesn't seem to be many improvements worth the higher price that new cycles always command: biggest improvement based on this article seems to be the bezel. Bixby digital assistant on Samsung phones and watches still sucks (I hate that thing - Samsung should get rid of that bloatware or develop new technology, wish I could permanently disable it!) https://www.theverge.com/21368752...s-features

Strange thing I found is Active 2 40 mm in store Rose color is $169.99. 44MM Black is $189.99 in store. Checked the model numbers and date of the offers and it is matching perfectly.

looks like they forgot to update the signs. I am a metro-detroit costco employee and our signs have the red 70 crossed out and 100 instead

The one at the store doesn't have the extra charging dock right? I bought in store and just realized this ..... shoot

Edit: never mind, it says charger x2 on the box and there's 2 chargers inside the box.

Samsung watches could still be used, but limited, to something like Apple phones. How about apple watches? They are exclusively apple. Are apple products synching anything with any other platforms? I think not. I do agree that this watch/OS/functions needs to be opened up to more things, but it's unless they have an incentive to go the extra mile to support their competitors, then why? There are other brands that focus/work better with specific phones. Find the ones that work with what you have, and stick with it. Apple already has most users in their palm, which is one reason why I never got their products. I might change my idea once I actually give this product a test. I have my eye on the Ticwatch Pro 3, but for the price of this sale, it might be worth it.

Apple did not go for the extra mile to support competitors' phones, I cannot find fault in that. Meanwhile, Samsung took the extra mile to write code in their app to disable important features on other phones. That's where I found Samsung guilty.

Samsung removed the "Floor Count" function in recent firmware update, but if your have a watch face support it, it will still show. However, it is very inaccurate. No wonder Samsung removed this function.
