Yeah this is a decent deal. HD has the same battery for $149 w/o the free 3.0. HD has the 3.0 two-pack for $129, so I don't think you're getting $100 free like they claim. Comes out to $13.63/amp, which is above the target $10/amp. But, not sure the target applies to high output versions.
Edit: there was a deal about 3 months ago at HD for 12a + 8a for $199 (there's your $10/amp target), so maybe this isn't so good.
I was trying to think of a deal that had the 8.0 for a slicker price. If you need the 3.0 this is a slick one.
If you needed the 3's, the slickdeal was with the impact driver packout bundle. This is just good. I've sold 8's for $80-90 on offer up, and can purchase 3's for $35-40, so $115 to $130, brand new, which is why I can't really say I think this is slick. Nevertheless, I appreciate the OP's post and gave it a thumbs up.
After seeing Black Friday deals $199 for 8.0 + 12.0, i'm more than happy to wait for similar deal. Return 12.0 or 8.0 and end up paying around $90 to 8.0 and $100+ for 12.0

yeah, saw that deal too; and ended up with a nice Milwaukee Brad nailer for $160 instead of $280 (return 8ah).
Picked up this deal instead. $160 with tax for 8ah and 3ah high output. Gonna use 8ah for my milwaukee vaccum and the 3ah go straight to the circular saw.

The in-store deal from November 2, 2020 to January 31, 2021 was a free 8.0Ah with the purchase of a 12.0Ah. Price for the 12.0Ah was $220 ($219). Which made for $220/20 = $11/Ah.
Wish I'd realized there was a deal made it $10/Ah. And it was on November 2nd! The same day the in-store deal started. Oh well. $220 for those two huge batteries was pretty excellent. I have a multitude of deal alerts set up now, so hopefully won't miss out. Thanks for sharing that link.

The recent 8/12 deal was 199 online (for a few weeks until it sold out) and 219 in most stores. It was the same sale just with higher different price in store. There may be stores here and there that have lower price (and sometimes you can get lucky with a price match but often they won't).
Unless you really need them i would wait for 4.0 high output to release and try to wait for a deal for 8.0 and 4.0. Its only 1 ah more for the slim but i jus prefer to have highest ah possible for a specific physical size
