Does Walmart.com count as being Walmart on list of eligible retailers?

Anyone's rebate get denied for purchasing at walmart.com?
Haven't been notified yet if my walmart.com order is denied. I wouldn't think there'd be an issue.

I can't seem to find 0w-40/5w-40(Euro) in gal jugs anywhere. I wonder if there's a shortage. I think I'll just stick with Castrol A3/B4 certified stuff for now. And shell T6 if I get desperate. Price and availability sucks with this brand.

I was thinking the same thing, too. Need 5W-40, but would prefer to buy it in a gallon jug, not 1 Qt. bottles.

They have a 6-pack of 1 Qt. bottles, but that isn't eligible for this promo, unfortunately. The lowest price I can find for a single Qt. bottle is $9.99, whereas the 6-pack is priced around $40 ($7.50 a bottle).

I have a V8 BMW, so it takes 8 quarts. 7.5 actual. Those single quart 6 packs don't really make the cut with this engine. I have no immediate need for oil at the moment, as I usually buy these 5 quarts jugs on sale, three at a time(3X5=15/2=7.5 quarts x 2).

It's been getting weird for 'euro' weight oils. Mobil 1 lost their certification, and even pennzoil, an admittedly crap brand, can't even get their shit together. Kinda smells like we're invading the middle east again. Guess I'll be waiting for a spring purchase.

Thought I had found a sweet deal. Walmart lists a three pack of five quart bottles of 0W20 for $30. But after adding it to the cart, the price jumps to ~$65.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/3-Pack-Pennzoil-Platinum-SAE-0W-20-Dexos-Full-Synthetic-Motor-Oil-5-qt/46... [walmart.com]

Tried to online chat to get some kind of price match, but she gave some BS answer about the price will update in 72 hours. Hope somebody else can figure out how to make it work. Three jugs for ~$10 after rebate would be sweet.
I called Walmart's customer support and stayed on with the rep for about 30 minutes. They issued me a promo code with the price difference in checkout and it came out to to listed $30. Worth a shot to call again with a different rep but YMMV.

Looks like when there was an issue with their website and receipt downloads, it was actually sending it through. I received 5 separate emails saying that they were "Incomplete or No Proof of Participation".

So it makes it buy 1 get 1 free with the regular platinum, and $14 each for the Ultra Platinum.

That's still a pretty good deal because I haven't seen Ultra Platinum go on sale lately. Two 5 qt jugs is probably enough to last me the rest of the life of my car (I have 3qts left and 280K miles). Even if it did, it's not getting below $14 per jug, and Pennzoil hasn't had any good rebates in a long time since that $22 rebate last year on one jug.

I'm thinking about switching to high mileage soon though. My car burns about half a quart after 8-9K miles. I usually change it around 10-12K. The engine has about 180K miles on it.

I've gotten all my rebates the last 3-4 times. Even mixed and matched Amazon and Walmart. One time I submitted an invoice with delivered status. You think they care more about that! But since it didn't have an order date, Shell never issued a check. I had to call them. When printing from Walmart's orders page, you may need to set margins to minimum or none. I also set the page to Tabloid so all my orders showed up on one page.

My 124 Spider requires 5w40 Euro and I don't think it even exists in 5 qt jugs.

I do these when I can afford it:

Summer:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Castro.../145736795

Winter:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Castro...s/35931146

And if broke:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Shell-.../102646780

For my model/BMW LL1 aka long life 1 is the cert, and Castrol, Amsoil, BMW, and maybe this pennzoil crap are the only ones that have it. But honestly, the shell rotella T6 does a pretty damn good job, but I know the additives aren't right for gas over time.

5w-40/0w-40 is a giant PITA, but I do like the engine. It will never die.

Where are all these engines that failed because someone used one brand oil over another?

It's not so much one brand over another but OCI. Cheaper oils will have less additives or be conventional/synblend. The bigger issue is people running oil that's not supposed to be run for 20k and not changing it.

HD matched Walmart. I was just delivered two - 3-packs of 0w20 for $10/jug. I won't bother with the rebate as it doesn't qualify. I'm happy with the purchase...now if I could find a deal on some oil filters.

Correct. Nothing in those pinpointing a specific oil vs another oil at all either directly or even wild or indirect speculation. I go cheaper and more often, to each his own.
