It's Tomb Raider.

The last time I didn't add a "Price" value while posting, the SD mods (or whoever) added the lowest game price on it and reformatted the entire thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yep, that would make more sense... Thanks for catching it though!

Not "soon." I had this discussion with someone the other day. Stadia did just shut down their internal development studios aka developers they bought/hired to make games just for them (like a console exclusive). There's currently some significant project/update/feature?? coming out called Project Hailstorm, but no one has any idea what it is. I would say Stadia is going to be around at least a year, so I would not say that it'll be shutting down "soon." Google also usually gives a lot of advance notice to their services when they do finally kill it off. I.e. we are killing Stadia effective today and it will no longer function as of July 31st, 2021. Or whatever.

I have very little doubt that the future of gaming will involve streaming, but I don't know whether Google will stick around with Stadia long enough for it to be an income generator (maybe 10 years?). Right now the internet infrastructure in the USA is really not good enough for a lot of people to stream well enough for fast twitch games. You need a very low latency (for responsiveness) and a fast connection (for image quality/resolution). You also need a lot of bandwidth because you're streaming up to 4K video constantly when you game on it. I believe Stadia is trying to negotiate to make their bandwidth not count against caps, but I can't imagine them having any luck with that because ISPs like Comcast have no reason to budge unless Stadia flat out pays them.

I am currently using internet fast enough for Stadia and have spent money on Stadia, but I don't think I will anymore after the developer shutdown. I just don't see a reason to trust Google to keep Stadia going and there's not likely to be a continuing plan for my games library if they do shut down. Unlike say, digital movie lockers that go defunct like UltraViolet where the library just ported over to a similar service.

Great deal on these games, just make sure you have at least 30 mb connection for 1080p. You can test out a free game first. If it doesn't work they have the standard less than 2 hours of play refund policy and less than two weeks since purchased. Stadia should be fine. Even Nintendo is doing streaming now.

Stadia is pretty awesome and gets a bad rap for now reason. I vastly prefer it over my consoles. The whole industry is inevitably headed that way. If Google dropped Stadia, they'd be leaving literally billions of dollars of revenue on the table for Microsoft and Amazon. Google is only 1 of 3 companies with the network capable of delivering cloud gaming worldwide.

Agreed. But the problem really lies in the fact (as mentioned by a poster above) is that there simply isn't the internet infrastructure in most of the U.S. for this. Many people, including myself, are strangled by the duopolies that exist in most areas which have little reason to upgrade their lines at the moment.

I disagree very few people I know want this.
There's currently a pretty specific set of people who benefit a lot from Stadia. If you're in an area with great Internet (fiber, or at least not horrifically over-committed cable - does that even exist in places like the US? ;-) ) and are playing a game like Destiny 2 which is always-on anyway, it's really nice to let Stadia take care of the system updates and hardware upgrades for you for a low flat fee. If you're constrained for space, don't like physical media, etc, it also might make sense IMO.

But there's a lot of cases for folks who don't fall into that target, and even some who do for whom it still isn't practical - e.g. I have good Internet, but have several kids I usually play games at home with simultaneously, and one stream seems to work fine but I dont want to try 3 or 4 simultaneously.

On top of this is all the issues that people have already observed elsewhere, with what feels like game companies steadily eroding the concept of what owning a game means. People who care strongly about such things will likely never be a target for Stadia or Geforce Now and the industry isn't helping.

But live service always-on games are a pretty popular thing nowadays, so I can see the benefit fora specific set of folks. We will see what happens in the long run regarding Internet - especially if data caps continue to be foisted on users it seems dicey.
