Is this what the future SERIES X will look like?

Assuming you could add a 3rd access point in the future if necessary? Looking to upgrade to WiFi6 here eventually.

Anyone have some insight on parental controls? Also how much data is used per device? I have an orbi and it doesn't report per device and parental controls cost money per month..

It has parental control functions but they are limited. For example, it does NOT work well to block youtube. You can search and see the complains.

Wifi 5 and it looks like is the horrible mixed and matched triband with dualband combo, which is garbage hard pass. Anything that uses the dual band hardware is complete and utter garbage from linksys, only their triband units are good.

Here is a easy one pager with all the info on parental controls and what you can and cant do easily spelled out with pictures, lol. Ill give Linksys this they have good supporting documentation.

As for data per device nope, its been an asked for feature for 2 years now and still has not happened best to my knowledge, but I dont have a wifi 6 version to play around with.

These units are tribands so this is a great deal from that respect, if you need more coverage and dont mind dual band Deco X60 when they go on sale for around $250 better deal.

Only thing I don't like are the very limited parental controls. Other than that great hardware.

Thoughts on this vs the TP-Link Deco X60 for $200?

Anybody seen these in-warehouse? Returning my new Deco M9 set as it seems to be throttling due to a combination of heat production and poor bottom ventilation. Even on the latest firmware when placed in a cool/wide open space with no exposure to direct sunlight. Would be good to walk back out with this set in hand.

Anyone upgraded from AiMesh to this? I'm currently using ac68u and ac88u in AiMesh mode and the switching isn't very good. It also won't extend the guest network to the Ai Node. Just wondering if this is THE wifi 6 mesh system to get. Currently researching the Orbi 3-pack WiFi 6 Mesh from Costco for $430.

I'm thinking it would be if the Velop app allowed for a custom WAN DNS to be entered (Google, Cloudflare, OpenDNS, Quad9 etc. Custom DNS is only available in DHCP/LAN settings for some reason. Probably doesn't shut down ISP DNS provision on the WAN side.

If you need the additional coverage go with the X60 dual band 3 pack. They have good speeds and a good app, along with decent parental controls.

The benefit of the Velop is that its triband and can hold a wireless connection between the units better.

Everything else should be pretty similar minus the additional unit for more coverage.

Anyone know whether Linksys has made this Homekit compatible yet? Have had my eye on this since the last sale.
