1) Speed of service
2) Distance of device from node
3) Max transmit rate from node to device
If you're using a WiFi 5 device, and you have a WiFi 5 mesh system, it could be just as fast or faster. WiFi 6 devices will connect to a WiFi 6 router like this at a higher transmit rate, but depending on the distance from node to device, overall throughput could be lower than if it was connected to a closer WiFi 5 mesh node.
But if you have a WiFi 6 mesh system, that rules above all at this point in time. You get max coverage and max transmit rates. Hopefully you have at least Gigabit service from your ISP to take advantage of it, because you'll be ISP limited at anything 500Mbps or less (that's where WiFi 5 systems max out).

citan359 I'm on gigabit fiber, 3 story/ 3000 sq ft. with the router on the middle floor on one side of the house. Can easily get the second story office on the far corner with only dropping one bar. Speeds have been great
Costco should offer more being a membership fee store.
It doesn't help with coverage area. You do mesh networking for that.

Netgear routers are trash and will always be trash.
Many times a device would show it was Connected but had no internet, and come to find out no IP address assigned - when the day before it was working perfectly.
That was a Linksys, and I've yet to replace it due to almost all the other name brand Wifi 6 routers having similar issues, and older devices not playing nice when AX band is enabled.
I went back to an older Nighthawk AC router that gives me no problems at all. I'll probably wait to buy a Wifi 6e router as soon as a cheaper than $400-500 model drops.
