Save 50% on a 1-year Paramount Plus subscription - CNET $49.99

$49.99

CBS all Access (soon to be rebranded as Paramount+) is offering a deal for new subscribers.

Using code "paramountplus", you can save 50% off of an annual subscription. This drops the standard annual plan to $30 from $60. This drops the no Commercials option (retail $99/year) to just $50 per year, or just over $4.15 per month. IMO, the extra 20 bucks is well worth the savings in time of suffering through ads. Plus, the $50 option gives you the option to download titles.

I know that there are a ton of streaming options out there, but if you are looking for things like MTV and Nickelodeon this is another option.

ENSURE THAT YOU SELECT THE OPTION TO SHOW ANNUAL PLANS (just above the continue button on the main screen) TO RECEIVE THE MAX DISCOUNT.

Anyone else sign up for this deal and the checkout showed the coupon, but the "your free trial is ending" shows the upcoming charge as $99?
I did as well, hard to believe they would show us 50% off for 12 months in the checkout yet charge us full amount but the email does show $99 and not the 49.50 it should be...

Any update on this? That's messed up if true.

I tried to sign up. But I receive message: email already used. From signing up with past promos. I have three emails...not making another just for this promo. Calls to CBS all access help line could not be completed. "Please try later..." I did. Ten times. I give up.

Heads-up that later this year, the current Limited Commercials plan will be discontinued, and a new $4.99/month (plus applicable tax) plan that does not include access to your live CBS station will be introduced. This will not affect current subscribers unless you cancel and resubscribe after this plan is introduced. At that time, you'll only be able to choose between the new $4.99/month plan with limited commercials and without the ability to stream your local live CBS station, or the existing Commercial Free plan. The exact date will be announced as it gets closer.

Any updates from someone who subscribed to the discounted annual plan more than 7 days ago and have now been billed? Were you billed $49.99 or $99.99. It makes me a little nervous that every place I look to see next billing amount says $99.99. The only consolation is that the virtual credit card I used has a $56 credit limit.

I have an existing account which was on a free month. I clicked through the paramount plus site and upgraded my plan to yearly. Was presented with $49.99 for first year. Paypal was charged the full price plus tax. I tried to also add the PARAMOUNTPLUS code afterwards. It shows 50% off now but I was still charged. I admit that I failed miserably and should have just used a different email address and credit card, etc.

Has anyone had success getting a billing error fixed? I put in a help request to CBS and a dispute to PayPal (who will contact CBS). I don't have much hope given how poor CBS billing has been in the past.

33 minutes on the phone on hold now. I see where someone else got cancelled and signed up again. I just don't have time to hold much longer.

FWIW, I got through to a (very nice) human after 20 minutes on hold and she said they have been hammered with calls about this. She said the email was "pre-existing" from the old system and that it really will be discounted when billed. I felt pretty good about it until she said "and this should show on your account". No, it doesn't. But she sounded like she knew what was going on.

What I recommend is to go in now before your 7 days ends and changed you payment method to a virtual number with credit limit maybe 10% over what you expect to pay (there is tax in some states).

Just an FYI. The paramountplus 50% off code is still working despite most places saying it would expire at 4PM PST / 7PM EST. I just signed up.

FYI, My PayPal dispute resulted in 50% refund this morning, one hour after it was submitted.

Same problem.
I am disputing through my Chase credit card. I also tweeted at them. This is ridiculous. The online screen said $49.99.

I emailed CBS at the same time as my PayPal complaint. PayPal refunded 1/2 almost immediate.y. CBS responded to my email complaint today. They tried to refund me, but that failed (probably since PayPal already did the refund or because I turned off the PayPal permission for them), so they said they put the 1/2 refund on my account for the next time that have to pay. So looks like I might get 2 years at 1/2 off. Of course there isn't anywhere to see this credit if there is one. Next year I will use a virtual card (like from Citi) with a $60 limit to see if it really works. Their system is a mess but it seems that they will at least attempt to make it right.

Good for you. They responded again and said they refuse to refund me. Still disputing with Visa.

I got a reply after emailing Sportsline since the account I have is through them saying to sign into P+ with this link. Sign in went normally and I wasn't asked to choose a plan or anything. The P+ site says what it did before my subscription being linked to my Sportsline account without any mention of expiration.

I wonder if the same kind of link would work with cnet at the end instead.
