I own both also and the reason you got so many thumbs down is because you're forgetting about what makes this Samsung so great.
120hz OLED screen with inky blacks.
It destroys the new iPad Air 2020 model screen. 60hz and annoying gray backlight bleed.
You have to go all the way up to an iPad pro to get a comparable screen.
Screens are important since you're staring at that thing 100% of the time.

I have used a dozen of different stylus from Microsoft Surface to Lenovo Thinkpad to iPad, Wacom is still the best when it comes to pressure sensitivity of line quality. Apple pencil is really good with tilt suppprt and almost zero parallax and lag but the feel of actual using it isn't great. I have used both gen of the iPad pencil.
The Samsung S-pen is much better than the Note 12 tablet from years ago. I would say the new S-pen is about the same as the new Apple pencil but actual feel of use, I still will give it to the S-pen. The average user won't care, and the added bluetooth and a dedicated button makes the Samsung S-pen more useful.

Doesn't replace my desktop, but replaces a laptop easily.
120Hz display - this MATTERS if you are using it to take notes like I do. reduces pen lag to almost not noticeable. (IIRC ~9ms, same as ipad pro)
OLED display is very nice, can't even tell its on if its displaying black colors.
DeX mode is awesome, it gives a windows-like experience of a desktop feel. This is really what sets it apart IMO.
I love that it charges off the same USB-C as phones do. Even a low power charger will charge it, much like phones. In comparison, many laptops with USB-C require a certain wattage or it won't charge.
The one major downside I would say is the keyboard bookcover. Its not bad as a keyboard, but it is kind of loose (magnets) and falls off if you arent holding it together. It also "droops" where it doesn't cover the entire front of the screen. Although my main argument with the keyboard cover was the price, which since I've purchased it, I've seen it reduced on slickdeals here and I would definitely recommend it for the lower price (around 100 dollars) but its not worth full price of $230 for the s7+ book cover.
The other downside people mention is android OS doesn't have a few apps for tablets that are available on iOS. This may be true but youd have to consider it for each app you need and then see if they are available on android. Also the formatting of some apps doesnt look good on the tablet, such as instagram being abnormally "large" but this is generally fixed by just using the samsung internet browser and accessing the site through there as it formats everything much better.
Overall it offers the same performance as an ipad pro for about half the price if you get it on sale.
