I enjoyed this much more than Need for Speed Remastered especially on the Switch. The open world concept and variety of races was much better than the linear format of Need for Speed. Plus the crashes in Burnout are spectacular.
That was crash mode, which was part of Burnout 2 and Burnout 3. The version in burnout 2 was far and away the best. Crash mode is not a part of this game, unfortunately. For those who don't know, it was essentially a puzzle game in which you saw the scene and had to control the car from the start of the scene until you crashed with the goal of causing the most damage (measured in dollars).

It's the reason I still keep my OG Xbox.
For anyone curious about this game, or anyone who wants a good laugh, go to YouTube and search for Zero Punctuation Burnout Paradise review.

I dont particularly care for driving/racing games(other than this and mario kart), but this one was really fun because you can just drive around an open world really fast and do a bunch of jumps and stuff.

Oh and it has a really good soundtrack that greatly complements the speed happening on screen. I'd say most of my enjoyment from this game comes from mindlessly driving around at high speeds while listening to the soundtrack. It's both relaxing and exciting. The online is great too, you don't have to stop driving to join a match, it's all accessible from the d pad, and it is one of the most seamless ways to get into an online match that I've ever experienced in a game.

It also had a ton of dlc (most of it free, if not free then cheap, obviously this version has all that dlc packaged into it, just highlighting some history for this game), dev support for years, and was just a really fun game.

I would really like to see a sequel for this.

I recently looked into it and it seems Burnout 2 is BC up to the 360 but not up the XB1/XBX, unfortunately.
I was thinking burnout revenge. Good point.

Thanks. I watched a video wondering why there weren't more crashes. If this is just a racing game saved me $15.

This has the crashes too. It's just done differently. You can just start into crash mode anywhere really. Your car goes into a special crash mode and you can control the flipping.

I will agree though that for some reason it's not quite as fun as the dedicated crash mode in some of the earlier versions.

It's such a missed opportunity with this game and a shame they didn't bring it forward; I'd argue it was one of the core parts of the series up to this point. Heck, I'd buy the mode as a DLC if it were available.

I own this on Switch. It runs at 60 FPS (SOLID) both docked and undocked. Hot Pursuit Remastered, while a great game, runs at 30 FPS to my knowledge. A con against this game, though, is that it does not have cross-play with other platforms, while Hot Pursuit Remastered does.

If you don't care about playing multiplayer with friends on other consoles, this is a great port of the game. It has just about all the DLC too. You can access all the Legendary/Big Surf Island/etc cars from the get-go (e.g. the DeLorean).

And its been on Xbox, ps4, and pc for almost 3 years. Don't you think it'd be that cheap on those said systems by now? Where as the switch version was release less than a year ago in June 2020. You mean to tell me that it should also be $5 too just because it's already been that price and released many years ago on other systems? Get real.

My son and daughter both have switches. Is there a way to purchase without knowing their account and gifting them a license?

Great game on the PC and Xbox.
Not really, you could go with giving them an Eshop card. Or... if their credentials are on your computer you can buy it and it'll install it automatically.

Lol, yea ok so if they just "release" some game that's been out for 15 years they should charge full price right? Get real
