I'm not saying the price is "worth it", but I'm still using my mothers vitamix blender (with the plastic container) from over 20 years ago.
RE Vitamix overall, I always balked at the price and refused to pay $350 for a blender. Bought the ninja (BJ700 methinks) and thought it was great and that I'd made a smart move. For context we do lots of smoothies with veggies and stuff. Later we inherited my mothers blender and were SHOCKED at how smooth and fiberless the resultant smoothies came out. The fancy ninja was banished to the shelf and the ugly old vitamix has sat on the prized counter space ever since. Daily use and it still rocks. If the vitamix died I'd hold my nose and buy it again despite the crazy price, because the difference is just that great. I'm not trying to justify the ugly $70 price, but rather explain why the full experience can be worthwhile.
That said if I was just mixing stuff or blending a little ice, I'd stick with something cheaper.

Agree on all your points. It just runs and does a great job.

Vitamix is the ultimate! I can actually make smoothies with no seeds for my Crohn's disease. Made in USA too😊
I am TOTALLY saying that it's worth it. The Ninja is absolute trash when compared to the Vitamix. Not even close to being in the same league. The Ninja is a $150 version of a $16 blender from Walmart pretty much.
Yes, I've owned both, and still do.
