You can buy cheap Bluetooth 2.0 amps on Amazon for $20 to power and drive these kinds of speakers. They typically aren't pretty but a receiver is not required. A lot of folks use zone 2 and 3 for Speakers in other rooms however.
If you decide to go with the polk audio set buy them from crutchfield and have them price match amazon. Polk audio doesn't honor the warranty if purchased from Amazon.
Dumb question but do you need a receiver for this? How are they powered?

Cool thanks to both for answering this! Was looking for an option for something to potentially use as computer speakers that I can use inside and outside when the weather is nicer but might rethink it. More of a want than a need

Sorry never heard these JBLs.
I love my Polks though. I have bought Atrium 4s twice now. Once 15 years ago. I sold that house 2 years ago and they were still working great on the back deck where I had them mounted under the eve. So of course when we got settled into our new house I bought another set of atrium 4s and didn't even bother looking elsewhere.

Thats greag advice. Thoughts on 4,5,6 or 8s. My backyard is large. Debating going to 8s as a pair would be $260 or so.

I've never heard either so can't really give an opinion. I have owned polk audio car speakers and have been happy with them over jbl car speakers if that helps.

Leaning towards the same thing. Seems like 6 is a big step up from the 4/5s and 8 is huge
I bought a pair of Polk Atrium 6 for my covered porch back in Nov for $230, and they sound big and full. The price has been fluctuating wildly on these, so worth keeping an eye on the Camels.

I drive the Atriums with this amp, which sits in a weatherproof box with an old Chromecast Audio puck. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077GWVHHN/
The Atrium 6 are quite capable of bothering the neighbors with that little amp.
