HDMI 2.0 supports 1080p 144hz. It may also support VRR at that resolution/refresh rate. Hdmi 2.1 is a spec for 4k 120hz, since this is a 1080p monitor HDMI 2.1 isn't necessary

Man, I just got an MSI Optix Curved 75hz 24" from Amazon. Tempted to send it back but I really wanted a curved monitor.
Chime in if you got input, should I keep it?

Picked up one for my son because he wanted a better monitor than the old ASUS I was letting him use. He really likes it, but I noticed that the stand is quite wobbly. It has a nice height feature adjustment, but even using the mouse on his desk (a very study desk with no previous issues) causes the monitor to wobble.

But, as I said, he likes it.

My folks are heading to BB today to look for a new monitor to replace the 19" display they've had for 15-20 years. All they really use it for is web browsing, watching some youtube channels (nothing high production), minor photo processing, and solitaire. Is there any reason for them to spend the extra on this vs something like the LG or Lenovo IPS monitors that are both $20 less? It sure doesn't seem like it, but I thought I'd ask. They're very frugal and practical people, so "only $20 more" for the Acer would still need to be justified by a notable improvement in quality for their needs.

In your instance I would absolute buy a larger, higher resolution monitor.

Sounds like a regular $90 24" 1080p is all they need. They have no need for the specs on this monitor. I would suggest a larger size screen. Could probably find a 27" 1080p, as I don't think they'll notice the difference of 1080p vs 1440p

Not bad, but I wish it came in a 32". Are there monitors that offer a high refresh rate at that size at 4K? Or at least 2K.

For coding, go larger and higher res. Text sharpness is important.

I returned VP249GR and i just get this acer one. Just started using it, I can tell the stand is so much better but the speaker on this one is worse.
