Pretty good deal imo. OP 8 pro is a beast! I've tried other Android brands but nothing else comes close in terms of value for money and user experience. Also, they don't slow down your phone unlike other major brands.
One plus 8 is very good. The OS is super fast, smooth and without bloatware. Screen looks and feels nice especially with the high refresh rate. No wonder they are the number 1 in India right now
I usually go with Google phones because of the easy RMA process in case I run into any issue. With OP you need to send it in for repair and they will charge you. They don't just do a replacement like google does. Hard pass.
Any speculation on what this will drop to after the OnePlus 9 release next month?? I'm in the market now and seriously eyeballing the Galaxy S20 FE. Have a OP6 right now, but it's been acting up over past few months. Not 100% sure it's not software (apps) yet as I've been putting off a factory reset. Any thoughts/suggestions?

OP 9 will be a great phone for sure. Not too sure about the price point though. Latest Qualcomm chipset, better cameras, screen might be the same as the 8 pro. I've upgraded to the 8 pro from my 5t recently and its been great so far. If you can wait +- 3 months after release date that'll be your best bet. That's where the promotions kick in.
As for your OP6, a factory reset can do wonders for you. Just make sure you have your backups set and it should be a breeze. Also make sure to clear your cache right after a software update.

My experience returning my Nexus One trackball issue was much different than my last RMA for the Pixel 4XL. It took me numerous calls to Google support for any help and even that took about 3 weeks. All they want is for you to take it to a 3rd party repair place. Imo, unless you are within a reasonable distance, you get shafted.

I bet they will try to bundle the 8 + 9 some how before they bring down the 8pro price down for a single unit.

Auto rotate doesn't work on mine after updating
One plus has the highest brand loyalty (yes, higher than Apple and Samsung), and has a higher market share as well.
