With 30 series out, laptop with 1660ti should be around $700 to be a good deal.

Probably supply issues for now. I'd say wait until the end of this year.

LMAO If you can wait 9 months, then I'm sure there will be better performance/$ a year after that, too!

With Covid and mining, I'm actually pleased that deals on laptops are as good as they are... 'cause I can't wait that long.

There are a number of Ryzen 5xxx laptops due in March.....
Perhaps April/May we may start seeing better deals on older items....

But as you said not all purchases can be planned around BF Smilie

graphics card prices are very high right now, so this is actually a decent deal for portable pc gaming... but I doubt prices will stay this high for too long... maybe in the summer prices for gaming-class graphics will descend

I got my Dell G3 with 1660 TI for under $600 after cash back, about 18 months ago. Not sure why people still pay this much for a 1660 TI, regardless of any supply shortages.

Damn, got the same laptop but Ryzen7 4800H with 2060 vid for 800 before xmas from best buy. Give it a bit, this should drop like a rock once the pandemic gets a bit more under control.

Agreed It might make sense to suggest that people wait a month or two if you know some inside info about pending new releases but no one who can wait 9 months to buy is even looking at these listings

18 months ago is not today. Around the same time as you, I picked up a Ryzen 2700x for $130 at microcenter and bought a Red Devil 5700XT for just over $400.

The market is the market and I am thankful I do not need to buy anything today. However if I needed a machine or for others who need a machine, you do the best you can do in these crazy times of supply shortages and high demand.

This is a very respectable price in todays market.
