For those who are motivated parents of toddlers:

Make a custom "all-in-one compendium" for daily learning routine.

Include ABCs, 123s, shapes, colors, weather, days of the week, months of the year, seasons, first 100 words, types of vehicles, animals, fruits, vegetables, tips for good manners, emotions and moods, body parts, objects, etc.

Include photos of close family members who live far away or can't video call often.

Include some handwriting practice pages and insert some dry erase transparent sheet on top for easy re-use.

Include a visual routine for those who have trouble with transition. Photos of brush teeth, change diaper, milk, breakfast time, park, daycare, carseat, etc.

One strategy as 111 total pages is a lot to get done in such a small window from when this expires:

take your time making your books and have it sit there in your account until this deal comes around as it is quite common (9-10x/yr).

Also highly recommend the deluxe lay-flat pages option. They increase the price by quite a bit, but they come out beautiful. I make 2-4 111-page books every year and they make fantastic gifts for family, etc.

I agree that this is the best deal they offer when it comes to photobooks. However, they did have this deal on Jan 20. I use this deal multiple times a year for the past five years and I have noticed it happens nearly every month except typically may and december. I would imagine it is because they have a ton of demand due to mothers day and xmas and therefore dont need to run this deal.

Mostly all of them are books that display what happened throughout the entire year. I do them in chronoligical order, so new years is first page and christmas is typically the last. My spouse and I take lots of pics so when the time comes to make one, i have plenty to choose from. I started in 2016 so I have 2016 - 2020. I also started working backwards and have gone back to 2011. The ultimate goal is to have my childrens lives displayed in these books.

I understand most do this with social media (facebook, etc), but i personally think that is ineffective vs a shelf full of quality books that essentially show all big events, holidays throughout my children's lives.

I also do a one-off book every now and then. For example our first cruise, I made a 111-page book dedicated to that.

Hope that helps. Lastly, just for timeline it takes me 25-40 hours to create each book.

Seems like for existing customer lay flat option adds another $28, then if I do 10x10 book adds another $20, hard cover add another $14, so already looking at like $70 after tax. Is that normal or am I doing something wrong? Also are there usually deals with unlimited pages for sizes other than 8x8? Thanks!

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, but the lay flat and size is probably what is driving you so high. You can get 2 8x11 hardcover books (with 91 pages each) for $60 with free shipping ($30 each). As far as other deals go, from what I know, this is their best offer for unlimited pages.

I chose 10x10 because that's the same size as some previous photo book I made. But if that never goes on sale then probably it's better for me to just start some new size going forward. Is 8x8 the one that's always discounted when there's a deal? Also 8x11? Or do they do others like 10x10 once in awhile too? Thank you!

By the way, check out the groupon coupons that u can stack with this deal. I ordered 11 books with the groupon coupons, under $5 a book. Then still have to make the minimum purchase , $59 this month. Was $49 last month and $39 last year

Its been a looooooong time since they have done anything free besides the 8x8 Frown If you scroll here, you can see the offers for photo books by shutterfly that are frequently put out that hit fp. It does sound lovely though, a 10x10 lay flat with that many pages. When I think of what I pay for my kids' school yearbooks alone (more than $70 each, ugh...)....price is relative. You balance product quality/want/need/etc with the price. In this instance I feel you want to put your money and effort towards something you will enjoy, if you are getting a discount on top of that- its a win win.


Bear in mind....even if the 8x8 is occassionally offered for free (usually $8 shipping still), it is extremely unlikely it will be with additional pages. They are generally capped at 20. So what you need to do is, price each size out in cart with the features you want (you dont need to preload pics, you can do it blank) - use the UNLIMITED code, and check that final price with shipping. In this deal it looks like photo books are already marked around 30% off (I don't think they are ever full price) but there might be a range. Possibly up to 40% (don't hold me to this lol, I haven't tracked it since it varies by book).


They offer the unlimited deal I would guess 6 or so times a year. Then once you settled on a size you like, watch for the next unlimited page deal and see where prices are. My guess is that each will only be a few dollars different, maybe no different at all, and you can build your collection in the size you want from there. All that being said though....one can never know if a retailer will continue the pattern of their historical offers, either Frown

That sounds about right. I was getting them for $60-80 for few years. They must have raised their overall prices as I am around $80-100/ea now, but I do get a few other extras.

Also dont get the 6-color printing "upgrade". I tried it once and it actually looked worse then the traditional printing. 10x10 deluxe layflat pages is my goto.
