Looks like this set goes on sale at this price once a year or so from buydig - 2019 and 2020. It was $168 prior to that, e.g. 1, 2, 3. Amazon [amazon.com] has it priced much higher.

The weak point is the zippers. Almost every time I fly, baggage handlers break off zippers, then I have to zip them without the tab you hold onto (I can still use the zipper, just without a tab). That likely will happen to these bags.
So then I had to get another suitcase so I bought a hard sided bag with no zippers and the bastards cracked the shell. Unlike zippers, THAT IS covered by airlines so they replaced my bag with another hard sided bag.

The 4 wheeled spinners are much superior than the 2 wheeled variety if you have a heavy carryon or have to move heavy bags over a distance. Basically, with the spinners you just extend the handle & push the handle without really carrying any weight. I you have a big bag with a computer & other stuff that weighs it down that slips over the handle, that is additional weight you don't have to carry. If you have the two wheeled ones, you have to tilt it which means part of the weigh is resting in your hands (so that big heavy computer bag with all the other stuff on the top end can really add the weight on quickly).

I've never had a hard case. Looked at them before, but the problem I had with them is that you have to pay extra $$ for checked bags if it weighs over 50lb. Often not a problem for most people, but it can be sometimes and the hard luggage weighs more, which means less weight can be carried to get to the 50lb.

I have these from maybe three or four years ago and they have held up pretty well for me and my three kids to use. The largest one is almost too big to use for most trips, since it's really easy to go over 50 lb weight limit with it full.

We primarily use the medium and small bags and they have held up well. I'm considering ordering this set again (same price I paid last time), so I can have two mediums and two smalls to use. They do nest inside one another for storage.

Yes, I noticed that. Someone else complained about them not "double-wheeled" and to stay away. I assumed they meant they liked the ones with just two wheels, although now I suspect they mean that each of the 4 wheels is a single wheel, instead of a double wheel (which I think is what mine have).
