This Review[displayninja.com] claims that it's the same as the 32UL500 (that's in FP now) but with adjustable height stand.
I'm not sure if it's a true claim because it seems like the 32UK550 is an older model than the 32UL500. But if the claim is true, this would be the better deal because of the adjustable stand.

Just cancelled my order I placed on the deal on 32" LG 32UL500-W to go with this one instead. From what I can find, this is identical to the 32UL500 in every way except for its height-adjustable stand and that it is black in color.
I am looking to do 30% amateur photo/video edit, 40% websurfing/movies, and 30% productivity with this monitor. Although I did also contemplate going with an IPS display from the other deal on LG 32UN650-W, for $170 more at $449 I expect to not have to deal with the pain of something like IPS glow. I would rather save the extra dollars to help with the cost of a curved 38 ultrawide WQHD that I'm in the market for as well.
At $279, this monitor seems like it will be sufficient to perform my intended tasks. I'll come back and update after having used it.

From what I've researched, I think it's _almost_ the same monitor. As I understand it, UK vs UL vs UN is the model year. So UK is the model that's before UL and UN is the most current one. But this is the 550, so it's slightly better model than the 500 (because of the adjustable height).
if it's not for some BB GC I need to get rid of and the extra $50 off from Amex Offer, I probably would've gotten this one too.

There is a video on YouTube of guy explaining each model.

This would be horrible for gaming though
