It's been 10 years since I built myself a PC ... we break that streak with this combo. Thanks OP.

It was just on sale for $337 tho so how it's about a $50 savings factoring that in. its still a good deal. especially if you missed the BnH sale

Worth it or wait until 11th gen intel comes out? It's supposed to come out very soon. This is actually the CPU I had my eye on past few weeks.

I bought the 10850K just this week (got it delivered yesterday) from the other B&H Photo SD but now I'm looking for a motherboard deal. I think I can do a little better than an Asus Prime so I'm not too broken up that I missed this deal. Are motherboard non-combo bargains offered up on SD often?

Edited: Yeah, I just realized this would have been a good deal. The prime-A is a better motherboard than the Prime-P so I wish I had waited. Oh, well.

I'm so glad I didn't buy the cpu on B&H. The exact motherboard and CPU I wanted. Great deal!

Not sure if I should get this and return the 5800x I got and then use the 2600x I was replacing and turn that into a server ( was gunna get a new mobo down the road and make the 2600x a server anyway) but this would push that up cuz then I would need a new mobo.

Not an Intel fan(security mitigations are crushing on linux), but this is a great deal for a highish end system.

No reason to wait. These are CPUs and high performance CPUs as a matter of fact. There's not much more you need than 8c/16t. I'm still running a 7700k in my desktop and it's perfect.

Any recommendations on a cooler? I'd prefer not water cooling, never built a machine with it before
